1:00:39 Very interesting to hear that Manson was involved with Scientology. Especially considering that he was seemingly using hypnotic techniques on his cult members. I would LOVE to read Jon’s book once it comes out! I’ve read Tom O’Neil’s book ‘Chaos’ about Manson’s involvement with Jolly West, the CIA & MKUltra etc. and I’d love to learn more about the Scientology aspect. It seems as though a lot of these players are very much intertwined with one another. 1:01:49 The 1946 Babalon Working ritual that L Ron Hubbard participated in with Jack Parsons (rocket scientist) has always intrigued me. Jack Parsons was also a member of the Ordo Templi Orientis (Crowley’s cult.) Clearly both Parsons and Hubbard were fans of Aleister Crowley. Ekk 😣 *Side-note: Does anyone know if Scientology has any additional connections with OTO other than Hubbard’s work being heavily inspired by Crowley? Do these cults have any crossover?* I remember reading a story about 15 years ago written by a guy who had a one night stand with Peaches Geldof (daughter of singer Bob Geldof) and unfortunately for her he had some x-rated photos to prove it. They shot up heroin together, slept together, hung out etc. At around 8am she asks him to drive her somewhere, he did but barely remembers doing so. At 1pm he awakes in a sauna, throwing up everywhere and starts freaking out. He looks around and sees her outside of the sauna on an exercise machine, he’s extremely confused. He then reads some pamphlets and realizes he’s in Scientology’s Celebrity Center in LA doing the purification rundown aka ‘Purif.’ _(Yikes! The purification rundown sounds like absolute torture on its own, doing it all whilst going through opiate withdrawal would be pure hell!)_ *TLDR: Guy does heroin with & sleeps with Peaches Geldof (socialite), wakes up in a Scientology purification center.* *I bring this story up as I find it interesting that Peaches was openly involved in Scientology for awhile, but not long after she then joins Ordo Templi Orientis and even she gets the letters “O.T.O.” inside a heart tattooed on her arm. Many of her Instagram photos are of stacks of Crowley’s books etc.* *I’m curious to know if OTO (or any other occult “secret societies”) crosses over with Scientologists? If anyone knows or has any theories please leave a reply* 😊❤️

Did Cruise not learn the bit about controlling emotions? Just wondering as someone who has never been in a cult. This is so good I've actually created a Scientology folder and saved it. Might actually take notes from it for some university research paper if given the chance. I'm completing my 9th and final degree (the only one for pure enjoyment and not career). I'm completing my BA with a double major in Ancient History and Philosophy. I might be able to use it in a Philosophy argumentative essay or a research paper in one of my final year of study assessments. People have asked how people get into cults: cults will prey on the vulnerable in some way. You often find cults (in disguise) on university campuses in O Week. For those not Australian, I don't know what your terminology is, but O Week is the week when new students turn up on campus if interested, to look around the campus, and attend information 'classes' in the lecture theatres to show what that unit will be about etc. There are also food/drink stands and stands were different groups can hand out pamphlets. I'm sure the States have these weeks or days, but I apologise for not knowing your terminology for it. The subject of Trump followers has been compared to blindly following people. As an Aussie, it has always been the general consensus here that the Trump supporters we've viewed as, and it has been many because they always made the news in Australia, people who have a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock. Just FYI, I'm not a christian, I'm a spiritualist. My heritage is Celtic Druid and I believe in the old ways. My wee Scottish grandma started teaching me ' the old ways' when I was 4 in age appropriate ways, which is normal. Science is continuously proving spiritualist teachings to be correct. The Christian community get their noses out of joint because it debunks the lies and exaggerations in the chirstian bibles. I wish everyone the best in life, and hope that everyone finds balanced peace within their lives. Much love from the tropics, by the ocean, from summer in Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺

I have recently begun to think that all religions begin as cults . As long as we seek someone, outside of ourselves to save us cults will flourish. The great irony is that in so many religions people increase their suffering rather than gaining relief from it.

You need to spend sometime looking in to what MAKES something a Cult. To classify ALL RELIGION a Cult you are doing a horrific disservice to victims of cults. You have CLEARLY never stared death in the face, which is clear by that statement. Even atheist find religion when they are staring death in the face. The REASON the entire West is so wonderful is because of the values in Christianity. Man is where all things are corrupted & why people suffer.

Hubbard's stories are just so full of holes if you know your physics, geology, evolutionary history or even just history. How did the Jesus implant work then? did it lie dormant for 74 998 000 years and become active on a particular date? When I was briefly involved in Scientology I read "A History of Man" and it was very discordant with what I knew about evolution. Of course I ascribed my puzzlement to having misunderstood something, but I wasn't quite sure what I could have misunderstood. Scientology is adamant about your having misunderstood if you find flaw in Hubbard's droolings.

Scientology rather is enslaving for sure. Whether or not you believe in Jesus, Christianity as reflected in the Bible has the intention of setting one free.
