I notice a lot of so called Christian Artist, or Actors, when asked about certain life styles boy do they flip, and go to the usually secular World view apologizing and going against Christ.. The easiest answer is I trust in God's word, if you have an issue take that up with HIM. Lol they don't. I believe 99 percent of the music coming out is against God, whether it claims it's for or against. Most Christian music, doesn't have God in it at all, but more up beat themes. I think of it like the Chosen, which has Jesus really weird towards Mary. Then they came out having the flags and admitted Atheist all over the set. My wife and I walked away from church for ten years. God never left us nor did we stop praying. In 2015, we felt that we should try again. We started attending one because we really enjoyed the worship. I volunteered to play guitar on the team and after auditioning, the team leader welcomed me in. Now, because I am older and had not listened to any 'christian' music for at least ten years, I was new to Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation etc. These were all new to me. I would practice some of these songs but many of the songs stirred something in my heart that didn't feel right. I started paying more attention to the lyrics as I learned the guitar parts. Then I realized why I didn't really enjoy singing many of them. The focus of the lyrics were on men i.e. No longer slaves was the one that really got me. Much of the subject was 'me', not the Lord. The words "I am" are in many Hillsong lyrics but the 'I am' is not the one God spoke to Moses when Moses asked, "who shall I say sent me?" God said, "say, I AM, sent you!" The deception is here and its right in front of us in many many churches, the SELF, is worshipped not the great I AM! We left the church about three years later because they bowed their knee to the fear of 'covid' and obeyed the world instead of God who wrote through John, "perfect love casts out ALL FEAR" (that includes fear of covid for me) So we left since they didn't trust the Perfect love of God! Now after more than three years, we are still searching for a true bible beleiving fellowship but have not found any yet. We know there are no perfect churches out there, and neither are we, but most are either Calvinist or never talk about prophecy or don't want to acknowledge that the world is headed towards the end of days. But we keep looking unto Jesus who continues to be faithful. Praise God that this world is NOT THE END!!

I think art is not to be understood using a christian perspective. It is not to be evaluated either using a christian perspective. The point of art is to lay out all of human potential, all ways of being and all patterns of life. Art is to portray the good and the bad and everything else in between. Art has no agenda. The only agenda it could have is to portray all human experiences. I feel some christians do not even acknowledge that works like "paradise lost", "the divine comedy", and even "the book of job", discuss the existence of evil and it doesn't mean we should praise it or even live as those works say, we read them and discuss them to understand that those realities are as true as the existence of good. We don't watch a documentary on ww2 to praise evil, we watch it to learn about what not to do.

Rock music has been doing this for a while. The Eagles song One Of These Nights from 1975 has the lyrics “The full moon is calling, the fever is high, And the wicked wind whispers and moans, You got your demons and you got desires, Well, I got a few of my own”. Also from the same song, “I've been searching for the daughter of the devil himself, I've been searching for an angel in white, I've been waiting for a woman who's a little of both, And I can feel her but she's nowhere in sight”. Queensryche Operation Mind Crime, 1988, is absolutely blasphemous! There are so many bands, even the 60s there was Black Sabbath where the first word of one of their songs is “Satan”. Sex, drugs, and the devil go hand in hand with rock music.
