Michael Ashfield yea it makes perfect sense. There's a reason that the verse differentiates between a lowercase "g" in gods and the uppercase "G" used when rederring to God in the Bible. The only time this is done is when referring to idols or reference to a false god, or even when referring to men (this seems more likely now that I go back and read it in context). More specifically the men in this verse are judges, or people in a position of power. The verse is basically saying that even these men will be judged by God like the rest of the earth.. Which is seen in verses 6-8 "“I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’ 7 But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler." Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance." Side note sons of the most high is a title for men, a clear reference to humans. Different from the "Son" (uppercase "S") in reference to Jesus who is God. I think a correct understanding of the verse helps (apologies for giving a hasty answer earlier). "The whole point of Psalm 82 is that earthly judges must act with impartiality and true justice, because even judges must stand someday before the Judge. No single human should ever judge other humans? How is someone going to know what they are doing is not righteous, if no one tells them? The judgement of Christ is final, and no human can ever pretend to come close to having that power or authority. Pointing out "sin" to people and explaining the path to salvation is not judging. It's similar to when people say "God doesn't love everyone, if He did He wouldn't send people to hell." God doesn't send anyone to hell, that person never accepting the salvation of Christ is their own doing, in essence they send themselves to hell. A person will be held accountable for their actions, but their actions are their own, not Christ's. Nobody is forced to be saved, hints the idea of free will. I do agree that his delivery isn't the best though.

We are to preach God's word in the same manner that Jesus spoke! Jesus spoke in a soft clear tone. He did not shout at one another nor allow himself to be provoked!
