SEX AND THE CITY 𝓐𝓻𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓼

Жыл бұрын

In this clip: Kim Cattrall (0:35), Sarah Jessica (4:36) , Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon (0:56).
About this clip: Carrie tries to buy the Arabic man's virtue in the souk. The non-pareil Arabic man rebuffs her monetary overtures, despite Carrie's perfunctory "Thanks Aaaaalah" to sound cosmopolitan and globe-trotting. Earlier, in this scene, Miranda advances legal arguments to politely calm down the gold-digging resentment of her Manhattan friends.

Carrie is narrow minded. Unless she's in the same boat, she doesn't care to relate or be open minded. Carrie has been known to do good deeds if she is in the same boat. If she was in a happy situation in her marriage, doubt she'd do it. I'm just basing it on Carrie's character all through the show.

Why were they pretending they couldn't just pay for one more night and avoid the rush? 🤣 They're literally all rich women. It's $5500 between the 4 of them. Big alone could've covered it if Carrie pulled out her credit card.
@cosminandreimatei756

I guess that price is for each of them($22000), so for one night for them it would be $88000. But if we calculate the weekend and the Friday, when they arrived and being kicked out in Sunday, the price is $264000. But they had extended service, so I guess the final price is about $300000. No wonder why they choose the cheapest option: the check out and avoiding the jail in UAE

That was so disgusting what he did to her fine I get it what she did was maybe not polite but he promised those women that he would take care of them while they were there. He should have been a man of integrity and kept his word. I would have cancelled the meeting but I still would have paid for their stay. Especially, if I promised them they would have been taken care of for the week. And then in a separate email I would have expressed to her the reason why I canceled the meeting. Ppl forget we are all sinners but if you promise something you are bound by that keep your word.

Samantha messed up, period. She should have listened when the girls told her to cool it with the sexy stuff. Doesn't matter how the sheikh portrayed Abu Dhabi. You can only push the religious/cultural norms so far before you get pushed back, and no important figure is going to be embarrassed and not do something in return. Luckily, they let them leave, Samantha could have been arrested.

@@Puda Why would a hotel in Abu Dhabi have rates in U.S. currency?
@Puda
@Puda 3 ай бұрын
@@Debthouse sadly, because it’s SATC and writers couldn’t care less. Have you ever watched the series??? Also because the manager is talking to US people and knowing that they won’t do a simple math so he makes it easy for them. If you have ever been to the US, Americans just assume EVERYTHING is in USD (or made for them because they are the center of the world!) and you can tell with that movie!
@Debthouse
@Debthouse 3 ай бұрын
@@Puda If you can point to exactly where in the film it is confirmed that they are, in fact, giving the rates in USD, I will concede. How would me visiting the U.S. support your point that Americans assume "everything is in USD?" Wouldn't everything be in USD in the U.S.? I don't need to visit a country to know that they would use their own currency for the majority, if not all, transactions. Also, I am quite familiar with the _SATC_ franchise. I have also visited Abu Dhabi on multiple occasions. I have many friends, relatives, and colleagues who are American and I cannot think of one person who behaves in the manner you suggest. That is not to say that you are incorrect that such people do not exist, but your claim that it is a universal American trait embodied by every American would be inaccurate.
