haha had one also was a blast... completely destroyed it though.. a buddy was into racing associated rc10 at the time and we put one of his old electronic speed controls and i believe it was a 12t double... had a little track flat out on the straight into the first jump... that thing tumbled for what seemed like forever broke the body cracked the frame in like 5 places one of the wheels went flying... total right off as they say lol brother had a hornet friend had a frog and grasshopper... i had a clodbuster that sat in my closet up till about 10+ years ago brought it to a hobby shop wanted to update the electronics get it running again... he liked that it was all original and offered to trade me for an emaxx... so i did... but yeah the black foot was my first proper r/c

Nothing’s more gratifying than taking something that’s been neglected for many years and turning it back into something worthy of being displayed on a shelf again. 🤙 I restored around eight vintage R/Cs now, but have three more RC10T1s to finish up...Keeping the late-‘80s and early-‘90s alive and well!

Cool video. That was my very first RC truck I ever had when I was 14 years old. I'm 45 years old now. Long time ago. I was just thinking back though and I do not remember my Blackfoot having speed controls like that. Mine were all electronic I guess you'd call it. I also remember putting a whole bunch bigger engine in it too, it was not only fast but wow could it jump for also. :-) I remember I stayed up all night long putting my brand-new Blackfoot together. I was so tired the next day I couldn't even go to school. LOL

Was using 9,6 volt batteries and LeMans 240 engine or something like that.. Good old times.. Melted wires and connectors, changed the tamiya powerplugs to 12v spade connectors.. Melted the speed controller..😂😂 The White resistor Block had to be changed all the time.. 😁 Ahh, that times.. Miss it now😟

Nice job! My father bought a Blackfoot for me in 1991 and it was my first hobby grade rc. I still actually have it and the electronics included the Futaba remote still works but the only thing that's not mechanically functional are the dog bones. I wanted to keep everything original but I decided to go with a new motor, esc, servos, MIP differentials, replace the dog bones with the updated Tamiya Frog shaft assembly, some upgraded aluminum parts, new oil filled shock absorbers, and although my tires are actually in good condition I'll be replacing those too. I glad I stumbled across this video and again nice job!

10:04 yes that is intended for r/c batteries. It's a Dean's plug. It was an upgrade from the stock connector. Had them on my r/c's in the late 90's.
@SatisfyingRestorations3 жыл бұрын
That was recently brought to my attention. My mistake. I have only had tamiya plugs on all of my old rcs so I was unfamiliar with that type.
@evi1dav33 жыл бұрын
@@SatisfyingRestorations the "Tamiya" plug was the standard for many years. The plug you used was sold as a Dean's Super Plug back in the day (90's) not sure if they still are. It was a great video and it and has rekindled my interest in R/C's. Makes me want to get my Clodbuster going again. It's fairly stock though it has matching Magnetic Mayhem motors and a Novak esc that can handle 10 cells. It throws 4 very impressive rooster tails on 10 cells and will wheelie for day on pavement! It's been sitting for about 20 years so it's about time I do something with it. Got several others in need of help too. Kyosho Laser 4x4, Associated RC 12L and RC10 buggy, Bolink Legend, Tamiya uhhh.. I think it's a Blackfoot or another that uses the Blackfoot chassis (Frog?) to name a few. Sorry I'm so long winded but, in conclusion, thank you and great job on the restoration and the video!
