I can also report that a Soft Reset resolved the problem where the unit would no longer save destinations to the Favourites. There was no need for a Factory Reset and no existing destinations were lost. I'm very relieved.

I did as you suggested ....BUT the upper right bitton on my radio has a microphone icon NOT the star as shown by you....the set is now completely "seized up" and will only play on RADIO.....- media/navigation NOT available....Any suggestions ??

Nun meine Frage müsste der Wagen saß nicht später wenn er wieder läuft per GPS wieder auf den aktuellen genauen Stand bringen automatisch oder muss ich das selbst einstellen Der muss doch die Uhrzeit alleine wieder herstellen können Das kriegt ein 5. I installed the battery in the 2013 Passat and it blew the main bus fuse. It has been replaced and all systems work except the Nav-Stereo. It will not power on at all. Fuse looks ok. Is there another unit ie. controller in the vehicle/.

Thx I solved one problem, but in the last 2 months I have problem with Radio Navi it starts and turns off by it self. But I have noticed it doesn't happen when its cold after a while of driving maybe 1 hour or more it starts with off and on And you can hear it like a boom in the speakers. Does anyone know what it could be?

I am attempting to update my nav maps via a DVD on my RNS510. The DVD keeps "downloading" but never completes. Now I am forced to always have the DVD in the unit in order to use my navigation. Any ideas? Perhaps a factory reset and restart the process. I was told the only way to do that is to disconnect power from the unit. That doesn't sound right to me? I also heard there is a hack to load the maps from an SD card, but I cannot find the info of software online

ours is the fender version. after the car sat for 10 days the backup camera stopped working and radio has a shifted screen pic of the VW logo and keeps rebooting. car starts and runs normally - except no radio past the startup screen nor backup camera. any ideas ? checking with oDB2 to see if any codes stored. concerning - the rumor of soy wire coatings and the possibility of animal getting into wiring... Audi did that STUPID idea in the A8 headlights in 2006 and it all flaked off. germans spend their engineering time designing things to fail slightly after warranty, I swear.

hello, mine he reset by himself and change the langue to dutch and when i need to change it to english he give massage and loading bar but nothing moving he just stuck on that screen and saying in dutch ( die gewunschte sprache wird geladen) means the desired language is loaded and ntg happen i left it more than 2 hours nothing happen can u please help me >?!! thanks a lot

When I upgraded from rcd510 to rns510 the backup camera stopped not working can I know why? With rcd510 the camera working as well can I know why that happened

It sounds like a coding issue. The RNS-510 has to be programmed to have the camera

@@ScrewySole1 hi, what a coincidence, the problem is back 🤣 only recently. Back then I took the radio out, I wanted to unplug the cables and play around but I didn't know what to do. So I straightened the cables without unplugging them and that did the trick. I am going to try again this weekend. But honestly is a bit of a mystery now

@@ScrewySole1 hi, I decided to look again behind the radio unit. It turns out that the clip that connects all the cables wasn't all the way in. So it wasn't locked in position, that is why there was static noise and the radio screen went in and out all the time. The moment the clip with the cables at the back clicked, it started working perfectly again.

My 2015 Passat’s screen is black and exhibits a white intermittent white line. The fuses are fine and there is adequate power. I doubt this solution will work. A 4-YO vehicle shouldn’t have a defective entertainment system. I’ll try this nonetheless.
