@@ad7711x Surely not people like you that can’t think beyond one-dimension. But those that understand “team” sports and what they are looking at surely were captivated by it. Because they realize that the number of players that could make a small, no-name program like Davidson not only relevent, but competitive against stacked blue-blood programs is miniscule. Same reason intelligent basketball fans were awed by Larry Bird at Indiana State, and most recently Caitlin Clark at Iowa. Unfortunately the know-nothing dolts don’t understand the game or what they’re watching. It’s completely evident when they keep citing the lack of team accomplishments to undermine an individual’s greatness. Guess what? Take any other WNBA or women’s collegiate player and put them on Iowa’s team the past 2 seasons in place of Clark and they’d title-less too. Same goes for Steph Curry’s Davidson team. No one player was doing more to carry that team than Steph did. But clearly you lack the ability to recognize that.

Professional basketball is entertainment first and foremost. The reason why if someone"drops 30 points on her head" and doesn't get talked about as much is because the way they did it was not exciting. Plain and simple. Pro ball is about making money, making money is about an entertaining product, exciting basketball makes an entertaining product. I don't make the rules, that's just how it is. Look at the diff between how the NBA talks up a hot shot player about to come to the league... they embrace him. Then, look at how the WNBA treated Clark, stating with Diana Dinosaurasi. In short, women are just jealous when another woman has the potential to become better than them or in Clark's case, change the league. Women can't handle it, and it's why this league will eventually revert back to pre-clark levels once her game has been ruined by the Indiana fever because the coach doesn't know how to use her and the Fever organization is too incompetent to hire a coach who can.

Simple reason for CC's Olympic snub, Cheryl Reeves. She blackballed CC. As to the argument that CC isn't one of the 12 best players, baloney. CCs stats are better than Taurasi, Griner and Gray's in ALL categories. She is number 2 in the league in assists and 15 for scoring. She also has the most rebounds for a guard in the league and she is playing on the worst team. Don't be part of the gaslight committee.

"She is her own economy"...that is the answer to her ow question of why is she the only one being spoken about. NBA went through it with LeBron when he entered the league. While difficult, the players must put aside their pride/ego and realize something else Satou said. They are all benefiting from the Caitlyn experience, financially. Sold out arena means revenue growth for the league and teams, which leads to better amenities and salaries. Yes, that means collateral damage in terms of other worthy narratives being pushed. The thing with sports is that it needs to be entertaining. Caitlin Clark is entertaining, because she can hit some crazy shots. A lot of WNBA players look like they're just chunking up bad shots when it's a normal layup, and it does not look good, and is an entertaining. Caitlin Clark makes it fun to watch, let people watch her, and maybe they'll come to appreciate the other players

i mean this respectfully, stewie winning 4 chips at UCONN is less impressive than Clark carrying Iowa to back to back title losses. Like by a lot, especially considering she also broke the scoring record. and in womens college basketball there are more super teams that have 10 girls on scholarship that are all 4 and 5 star recruits like UCONN.. Winning when surrounded by other really great players is a lot easier than carrying a team.

I'm believe if Juju and Caitlyn swithed places, and Juju was bringing the shine that Caitlyn is, the reception by these ladies would be VERY different. The other ladies didn't get the shine because there was no demand for them. If the public doesn't care, the PUBLIC doesn't care. I don't think anyone is saying that CC is the best, just that she is bringing the eyes because of her style of play. CC brought me, but now I'm a fan of Kelsey Mitchell.

It’s funny that barely any of the interviewers are pushing back on the WNBA players with the fact that people don’t find most of the WNBA product interesting which is why the media did not cover it more. There is no push to cover cricket or soccer more. The reason it wasn’t or those players weren’t is because there wasn’t an appetite in fandom. I actually saw a few WNBA games over the years but there was nothing that grabbed my interest. This “what about us” narrative is getting old to me. Ride the wave!!! What I do like about this interview is that this player seems to understand that you don’t have to tear down one player to pull yourself up. No one has to fangirl about these rookies but there are unnecessary comments from some players that add fuel to the fire. Sometimes even when the convo isn’t about Caitlin they make snide remarks about her 😂

Exactly what she said. Caitlyn is the reflection of what SHOULD'VE been happening in women's sports. It's a disgrace that is now just getting the attention it deserved to have many years ago. Because many who are fans now simply did not see the value in the women who represented the league. That's the conversation nobody wants to have. I know the men in the NBA would be singing a whole different tune if they had been treated the same.

Maximum attendance: Not played Fever: Mecury +1054, Lynx +368. Played Fever: Aces +866.Storm, +9414,, Liberty +9985, Sky +1783, Sparks +12549, Sun +2686, Wings +1439, Dream +381. Attendace at Fever Games: 2023 Average 4067, 2024: Average 16571 Max 17,274 Everyone likes to say "Yes, but" then stick in their favourite theory. 2023 attendance (which was record-breaking) is like for a minor league baseball team CC, independent of all other factors, raised the WNBA from bush league to big league, embarrassing the hell out of the WNBA establishment. CC is already setting records for points & assists by a rookie. SHe would be doing much better if she had a major-league coach and if she weren't playing for a last-place team.

Y'all hating don't try sugar coating it. But at the sametime the media should try to also insert other clips of players right after they talk about Caitlyn Clark, thats the only way to make other players get known. As it is right now they talk about Caitlyn Clark then change the topic to Lakers. Use the views she's getting to plug other players, because her buzz won't last for much longer. But these WNBA players are not making it easy because everything out of their mouths is hating. Which then makes everyone dislike you all and not watch your games.

How many All-Americans did Stewy play with? Hell, the whole UConn team were All-Americans. Now, how many All-Americans did Caitlin Clark play with? Her teams looked like Davidson when Stephen Curry was there. Pete Maravich never won a Chip and yet there never would've been a Magic Johnson without him. Anyone could've practiced the logo-3 growing up, but they didn't. Only a skinny girl from Iowa and the world loves her for it. She's earned the right to sit on the US Women's Olympic team bench as much as Diana Taurasi, who is on the downward trajectory at 42 years old. Her scoring average isn't much different than Caitlin's, but she's not a rookie. We (and by we, I mean the whole world) just want to see Caitlin on the end of the bench, even if all she does is play garbage time. Maybe she sinks a shot or two, as an eye and a promise to the future.

Stewie does not have those individual accolades. Put CC on the that UConn team and she’d probably be mvp 4x like Stewie. All the women in wnba need to support CC.
