@@trusfratedbunny2215 ok so editor means different things in Tv & print. An editor in TV (not video editor) is someone who is at a pretty senior position maybe 7-10 years of experience I guess? Im not sure how much the salary would be but definitely over 1L+. An anchor in TV isn't paid extra as such from what I know, it all depends on your years of exp and how many companies you've worked at

Hey, loved your story. I am engineering graduate, just finished college. I've sort of always known that I had a calling for communication and journalism specifically but you know how I somehow ended up doing engineering. I've figured out that it doesn't really interest me so much anymore and I'm considering a career shift. It's probably hightime for me to make a bold choice for myself. Even though I considered management studies by default that it won't be too much of a redirection and I do see myself exploring the same later on, my heart isn't in it as much as it is into Journalism. Speaking of which, I just found out about the tripple major idea and even though the most practical option seems to be doing a PGD in Jorunalism, is it viable to consider doing an MA followed by PGD? Can you share your take on this?

Hi! A lot of my classmates in journalism college were those who just graduated from engineering college. Most post-grad journalism colleges just require an undergrad degree (doesn't matter which field) - so you don't need to do an MA and then do PGD - can directly do a PGD. Sorry if this answer is coming too late, I just saw this!

Hope you are doing good now. In my opinion, you shouldn't discontinue your engineering course. Its very bold step to take and you must be sure what you want to do next before quitting it. Okay so i am graduating with a BA.LLB degree in 6 months and am planning a shift to journalism. No one can become an anchor as soon as they join, it's a position you have to work up to - so you'll need maybe 4-5 years exp before you become an anchor. But all journalists would need a postgrad degree in journalism

hi - it depends where you're working. if you're based out of north India then yes, it is definitely important since you'll be interacting with the locals. The same with learning Tamil if you're based in Tamil Nadu. Don't worry about your hindi being weak, it is always possible to learn :)
