a quieter version of this tone is what I'm trying to get. I had the xforce 2.5in catback and it was horrible, just bass like a commodore v6. now got stock middle and sti quad mufflers, it's so quiet

Ay nice, and yeah with the wrong setup it can sound like a commodore or even falcon lol. Mine has actually gotten a bit quieter since this video, i believe there may be a little exhaust leak

Is this the facelift model?? I love the interior and I'm trying to distinguish the differences
@quasarcreator
@quasarcreator 5 жыл бұрын
Yep! Main differences are different gauge cluster, different stereo (and piano black trim around it) different shifter cutout, (circle as opposed to a square) 2 separate cup holders with blue LED rings inside and of course SI drive. I replaced the stereo with a double din unit like a month after making this video

Big ups from California! Super dope car mate! I wish these were more available in the states. I think only got the 2.5 spec b here. Either way that spec b is a gem! I would love to get one of these and sc it amd throw a bunch of sti components at it, at least brakes. Would move to Europe for it, hell. Any how great luck with the build! Subscribed.

Ayy thanks man :) and yeah it's a bit of a shame. The GT is definitely much easier to make power out of though, I'm gonna leave the engine stock til I get a good paying job :') Already upgraded the brakes on mine but am gonna order some coilovers before the end of the year.

It was not codeveloped woth porsche, stop stealing credit from something that is 100% inhouse Subaru design, juet liek EG33 before it and all other Subaru engines, only codevelopment ever was getting toyota parts for FA20 motor in BRZ/GT86 tonuse toyotas D4S injection system. EZ30 is Subarus own and FB/FA series are semi-derived from it end of story.

@quasarcreator
@quasarcreator 6 жыл бұрын
Main things that help are handling mods, so coils, tyres, bushings, etc. I got mine completely stock too haha. First thing I got around to was the exhaust mods I did in this video. Then I did an upgraded sound system. Just recently changed my front and rear brakes as they were almost gone haha, got DBA T3 rotors and some Bendix pads. Next on the list is coilovers. I'm thinking of either getting some from MCA or Shockworks, but there are heaps of options out there. Only real way to get power out of these engines is to go forced induction, the least expensive route is a raptor supercharger. You could also try turbocharging, but to actually get a good increase in power you're looking at tens of thousands of dollars (I'm not joking lmao).

Is this exhaust setup easy to do? Can a completely inexperienced idiot like myself do this with a tight budget? ($500)? Car sounds absolutely mint by the way. Cheers!
@quasarcreator
@quasarcreator 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yeah it shouldn't be too complicated. Took it to an exhaust shop and it cost me 500 actually haha. I watched them make it, seems like the hardest part is between the two primary cats and the third cat - there's a y pipe there. It's double or maybe even triple walled, which makes it super hard to cut through. However if you're keeping your third cat you won't have to worry about that (I think my exhaust is actually leaking a little bit there, some pipe seems to be rattling too) The rears are easy, my bolts were rusted af so just cut off the mufflers and welded on the new hotdogs + a bit of pipe. I'd imagine the only hard part there would be lining up the exhaust hangers.
@Um_Adam
@Um_Adam 6 жыл бұрын
Alright, Cheers for the quick reply! Excuse my lack of knowledge but If i bought quad tips would it be possible to weld them onto the new hotdogs? Or am I on the wrong track all together? Thanks

@quasarcreator
@quasarcreator 5 жыл бұрын
It used to! But now I've fixed it and it barely moves around at all - so much better. It is normal, the rubber bushes in the gearbox tend to wear down and break over time, so I replaced them with some much harder plastic ones so it's more stiff and will last longer :)

Do you find this setup to be too loud in real life and does it drone at all? I've been sitting on a set of headers for a while now and I'm thinking of either getting a similar setup or if I should just get an Xforce catback with hi-flow cats
@quasarcreator
@quasarcreator 3 жыл бұрын
Definitely not too loud-easily drowned out by music, and not annoying. Drone is a bit of an issue for me, only around 2,500 rpm. That could maybe be fixed with a proper set of mufflers (I just have 2 resonators at the back). Don't remove the large middle resonator unless you get a whole exhaust system cos you'll have a lot of drone. I've heard headers can make it raspier but if you paired it with say, an X-force catback, hi-flows, and some good mufflers (e.g. TCP Auto) you could get something nice.
@quasarcreator
@quasarcreator 3 жыл бұрын
I've had this same setup since this vid (over 3 years now) and haven't had any other issues. I would like to get headers at some point, but it's not at the top of my priorities rn.

Fuck Tonne of W's I wanna get that resonator too! Haha it made a huge difference for me, because my 3rd cat was completely blocked and full of dust. Just with the muffler deletes it sounded strangely quiet and almost choked, removing the cat really helped.

@FuckTonneofWs 6 жыл бұрын
did it like change the tone like maybe more rasp or deeper or just same tone but louder?
@quasarcreator
@quasarcreator 6 жыл бұрын
Defs changed the tone a lot - it made it much less muffled and airy sounding, hard to describe. Afterwards it had a much fuller and sweeter tone (idk how to explain) sounded heaps better. It may or may not make a huge difference for you depending on the condition of your third cat
@FuckTonneofWs
@FuckTonneofWs 6 жыл бұрын
well almost 200k car so might be as bad as yours, maybe i just do 3rd cat delete and go off that and see if i need to modify the resonator :P thanks man
