When you first started playing that opening level I thought "All this scenery makes it look difficult but it's not TOO bad if you're patient." But the level just kept going and going and going. Losing to a time-up on that one is insane. Crazy level. Good job persevering through that nonsense.

That underwater level. It was both super good and awful. It was challenging as hell, while being fair almost all the way through. But the length and lack of at least one check point made it absolutely terrible and will probably keep people from coming back to play it. Ever.

I thought it looked like an awesome challenge. The category is super expert yet everyone seems to just want easy wins, shouldn’t the highest difficulty be attainable and difficult? The amount of work it takes for the creator, only to be boo’d for difficulty when he’s placed his level in the highest difficulty doesn’t seem right.

There was some hidden secret backtracking cheese in that final level. That teleport box in the upper left corner of that room (that you could not reach at 20:51) can be cheesed by backtracking after getting the spinner block hat found in the 3 sets of blocks (at 21:14). Just take the propeller block hat back, to the room with the teleport cube, the fly into it. Too bad you beat the level and we will never know where that block teleports you to...

The swimming level is a prime example of the value of checkpoints - just adding those would instantly turn it from a level I would detest and boo into a level I'd kind of enjoy and like.

You know to upload levels the creator has to beat it from start to finish with no checkpoints regardless of putting them in there, I assume people don’t put hem because the game has a trash system to upload a level

@@apexpredator1699 True. However, as you said, they have to do the most difficult clear - from start to finish - whether they include checkpoints or not. Clearing from the checkpoints, while a bit tedious, is easier than the full clear that has to be done either way. And doing so turns a miserable experience into a far more enjoyable one for the player. That's why I always made sure to include checkpoints in my SMM1 levels - especially if they were longer. A bit more tedious for me, but certainly worth it. (Unless you want your level to be hated. 🙂)
