I actually know someone who was on one of these shows. They did 50k in renovations to 3 out of 9 rooms in the house, used 3 of the rooms for staging, and they trashed them. Once all was said and done, it cost my friend and his wife 45k and about a year to get the house back to normal.

Ever since SNL came out (when I was born, 1975), I have always loved it because even just the PREMISES are funny (e.g., a bachelor home makeover). Just the thought in and of itself is hilarious. 🤣

Can’t wait for the bachelorette version... With scattered, “Love” & “Kindness” up cycled barn wood signs. Wine cork collection. Oversized, Audrey Hepburn “artwork.” White sofa with at least 8 throw pillows. The, “collage of ride or die girlfriend photos” from a vacation to the beach or ski resort. & a litter box in every room, for the 2 “rescued” cats.

Not really. Carpets only collect dirt, and who needs so much furniture in one room? Just paint the walls a better color, put a few more light fixtures in, and it's fine (maybe add a small bookshelf to display books that no one has the time to read...😅 and of course a PC on a computer desk).

Sometimes simple is better. This was a heartwarming makeover where you could tell they really appreciated those downgrades. Though they did successfully declutter the room so upgrade? Shout out to those basic posters that you can get at Target or Wal-mart. Lol

Aint nothing wrong with a minimalistic place. :) I love to decorate, and buy art pieces that cost a fortune, haha, and taking care of plants, but my best friend has a similar house like this and sometimes I feel like I want to be there, its good when you only have what you ACTUALLY need. I also came to realise she could afford a lot of stuff that I also want but spent my money on useless decoration.
