She replaced Jenny Slate (who was a cast member on SNL during the show's landmark 35th season [2009-2010]) as the voice of Missy after the George Floyd/BLM riots in 2020 made Hollywood realize that they shouldn't have white actors play non-white roles. That's also why Mike Henry from Family Guy doesn't voice Cleveland Brown anymore and why the few black characters they have on The Simpsons (Carl, Dr. Hibbert, Drederick Tatum [the Simpsons version of Mike Tyson], etc) have also been recast with black actors (Alex Desert is Carl, Kevin Michael Richardson is Dr. Hibbert, and Jay Pharaoh [another SNL alumnus] is Drederick Tatum).
