@@markmh835 Yeah, season 47 saw a lot of cast members leave (Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Pete Davidson, Chris Redd, Melissa Villasenor, Alex Moffat, and Aristotle Athari). It's the most since season 20, when 12 cast members quit or were fired (though, for that one, it was because season 20 was one of the seasons that was so bad that NBC threatened Lorne Michaels with canceling the show unless he overhauled it. I'm guessing with season 47, Kate, Aidy, and Pete left because they've had a good run and didn't want to stay on for too long; Aristotle Athari quit because he wasn't getting enough screentime; Kyle left because he wasn't funny without Beck Bennett; and the rest were fired because Lorne wanted some fresher talent).

As an old fart, I actually do watch CSPAN on a regular basis. This portrayal is way off and not at all how the Senate runs when it's in session. Each Senator gets 5min of q&a; once the time is over, the Chairman moves on to the next. They are not allowed to chitchat back and forth willy nilly. They are on a strict timeline and follow protocol. All of them Ds and Rs come prepared to ask real, serious questions to the guest or guests. For the most part, they all are respectful.
