It's an also-ran for those of us old enough to remember when the actors bothered to hide that their entire performance was being read verbatim from cards. Weekend updaters are rarely in/rehearsing the skits, so they took the time to become familiar enough to just glance. Of course everything's better in the rear view mirror.

Hello Fellow Humans, Michael and Colin need to have their own show. Seriously this is the only reason I watch SNL. Weekend Update needs to be a weekly 30 minute show. They can have guests and Fellow SNL people on to do funny skits. But they are worth having an entire show to themselves. Honestly a M-Th nightly show would be great as well.
