I adore my 89 year old MIL, but she was bewailing the loss of JCPenney in her hometown, Indianapolis. I tried to tell her they still had some Indianapolis stores, not too far from her. I called the number and let her hear the store hours (They weren't open yet.). My husband said "I'll take you past there when I drive you home." It might be good to consider ads (pre-filmed) separately from skits (live). I doubt I'll see an SNL ad that surpasses "Compulsion" with Phil Hartman and Jan Hooks, but the details on "Alexa Silver" put it up in that neighborhood. Belushi's "Little Chocolate Donuts" is also a front-runner for me.

@@mewtubeofficial Exactly. I'm all for having a little joke about the seniors but I'm a lil' disturbed by so many comments of true complaints of the seniors in people's lives. I know they can be difficult sometimes but just like you said...a little pay back in turn. We are all difficult at times. Just like you said.... How about when we were wee ones? These commenters need to think about these senior people cared for us, wiped our poopy- disgusting butts and wiped our slimy noses, cleaned up our vomit and soothed our whiny whimpers and screaming tantrums. Where is respectfulness, patience and above all, love and tenderness for the people who have done this for us? Right? Again, where is the love and care back at them? Just sounds a-bit rough on some of these comments. I liked this one though. We are thinking the same. Pay back, if that's how they are going to look at it, then yes, its pay back. Haha. OH, and I would add to your comment here a bit more. One day we will be old too and how done to others, always comes back to you. It's a universal, God given karma. Another good warning to heed. Sadly, I can confirm this skit to be 100 percent accurate. My elderly mother is driving me nuts with echo. Calling it "Alexis", "Alexia"... then wondering why it won't work. Why did I get this for her? WHY? I finally put one in my room so I can tell it to turn off the front room light when my mother repeatedly tries to do it using the wrong name. Then, when the light goes off, she is so proud of herself, thinking she has done it.

Same here! The other day when I visited my folks my dad said "Alexa" once and asked a question. Then a minute later he asked her anothet question but did not say her name and said "it doesn't even work." (I know there is a setting where you don't have to say her name repeatedly but I don't know how much of a pause it allows and even if I did, I wouldn't want to have to explain it to my father 100 times over how many seconds it is). Every single damn time he does something wrong he blames it on the computer/tablet/smartphone manufacturer. If he forgets to turn off his computer or the TV, he blames it on the computer, says it is broken and automatically comes back on. 😤

I've laughed, shared and rewatched multiple times! Every scene and line is hysterical! My 89 year-old mother had a lengthy back-and-forth conversation with Alexa. I wish I could have recorded it. I think my mom actually thought she was talking to a real person! LOL

He'll never leave the show because he can't really act and would never be successful in movies or television (besides SNL). It's sad but it's 100% true. By the time he leaves, it'll only be because he dies of old age. He will eventually look like his character in this skit in about 10-15 more years lol.
