My gods... I've read dozens of the comments and nobody has said it? Fine; I will: The sheer amount of determination, courage, and WILL that must have taken... wow. If you didn't admire the John before (and there were many, many traits to admire), but if you DIDN'T before... I sincerely hope you're reevaluating that position. It's hard enough for most people to engage in public speaking. Harder still to stand up and own one's dirt. But imagine standing up to own one's dirt, in front of a _live, studio audience, *being broadcast worldwide*!_ Wow. ...there have been PRESIDENT that lacked that kind of courage and strength of character!

His monologue was very well constructed and had a real authenticity about it. I loved his baby jokes. Also, how many of us can boast having six friends to stop everything and have an intervention for someone they care about?

And props to Mulaney for handling this right up front; fans knew most of it from his Myers appearance earlier in the year, but he had to address it here too, and he did a great job.

Most comedians suck when they get personal about dark and personal subjects in their stand up but John's was great.
@avidnongetit87102 жыл бұрын
Please Pray for John. This is his 2nd time through recovery. He may start to think getting sober again is his way to funny.. I know it isn't rational. But addiction has nothing to do with rational or personal power or attitude... It's about crossing a line before we knew there was a line and Never ever having power to stop. It's a God intervenes moment even if we don't believe in God ...

This man is a master. I'm really impressed, I already liked his stuff but I'm not going to lie, the messiness of the past year had me overprotective about him doing SNL so soon. NEVER MIND. You do you, John. My goodness.

This is the first time I’ve seen or heard Mulaney since he went to rehab and I hope he’s continuing to do well. He seems likes he’s heading in the right direction and I never expected him to actually address what he’s been through to any degree, but just seeing him with more meat on his bones, has made me a bit more hopeful. We wish you the best John!

it's great you got sober, it must have been hard! but I'm curious, do you know how those people became dealers, was it the same slippery slope many with addiction fell off? being human never is an all good or all evil thing, is it?
@avidnongetit87102 жыл бұрын
Why? By God's Grace I am sober. I lost many people when I was brought to a meeting. They cannot come on to our new life if they live the old life fully. You are a diabetic who still goes to the candy store 2x a week. The store owner has to sell their Candy...you are going to eat... Please remember we are powerless. Please remember there is either sobriety or looking back while trying to walk forward up hill... You don't need to fall.... God bless you
