OK, but like is a 10 minute youtube video enough to declare that he's a good person? I do agree that he probably is a good person, but he's also a professional actor and none of us normies who watch youtube clips like this really have any idea what celebrities are truly like. I now realize that I'm being super pedantic and negative for no real reason, but I guess comments like this are a weird pet peeve of mine. So, I do apologize if I'm actually just being a troll and don't realize it

@@peace4myheart It is... But the combination of my glass of whiskey and the anonymity afforded to me by the internet has made me not care about nitpicking a stranger's perfectly valid opinion. I mean no malice, and I've never actually left a comment like this, but comments from people saying how great and amazing someone is based on a youtube video has started to rub me the wrong way. I personally consider myself a healthy skeptic rather than a negative douche (Which, I wouldn't blame someone for thinking right now) but I've already dug my hole so now I'm going with it... I think there are people who should realize that the people we see on TV are typically just showing us the side of themselves that they want us to see and its easy for us, as humans, to project the person we want them to be onto them. I certainly don't mean to compare Jason Sudeikis to Bill Cosby, But just think about all the youtube comments that people left about Cosby ten years ago
@peace4myheart2 жыл бұрын
@@ThePumpkinToad You can say that to people in real life as well. You really don't know a person until you actually live with them, or when they are under the influence of drug and alcohol. People usually present their best self in public. Even couples don't truly know each other until they live with each other. Philosophy speaking, no one truly know themselves until the moment arises. So you are not wrong. Always be a skeptic when it comes to human because they are one unpredictable animal. As such, never meet your hero in real life. They won't match up to your expectation. But that is such a pessimistic, albeit realistic, view. An optimist would think everyone is great unless otherwise. So can we fault those that want to believe the best in humanity, even though that is just wishful thinking.

Imposter syndrome is a hell of a thing. I had someone come in to a show I was at last weekend. She said, "I bought these handmade glow-in-the-dark earrings from you last summer," and I was waiting for her to say they had broken, or they had turned her ears green and she wanted a new pair. What she actually said was, "These are my favorite earrings, and I want to buy another pair." I kept waiting for her to say, "But..." and it didn't happen. That's imposter syndrome. Knowing Jason Sudeikis had imposter syndrome helps those of us who still struggle with it daily.

Jason's era of SNL will always be one of my favorites. I loved the small intimate cast where you felt like you were seeing your friends on TV every week. It seems like the show tried making up for the big 2012 and 2013 departures by just adding more and more cast members and I have a hard time connecting to them the way that I used to. It used to be that the main cast members had to be in almost every sketch just to fill the stage and now it's unusual to see the same person onscreen more than twice.

I've always loved Sudeikis and think he's one of the most under-appreciated cast members. His characters (usually) fall into the low-key straight man category, but he's so incredibly brilliant at it.
