Very nice and effective comparison thank you.. But it seems like 127eq has better images? Or is it me not being able to understand?

It’s smaller so less light so you will se detail if you manually sim the 130eq on your phone it will be better detail

The mirror in the Astro master is spherical compared to parabolic on the 127eq. Parabolic is better

@@RayZin The Powerseeker 127EQ is spherical as well but the scope is Bird Jones.

It's surprising the Bird Jones Powerseeker 127EQ had more details than the 130. Both have spherical mirrors. I wonder if this collimation was better in the 127? Did you try stacking the video?

Oh man, and you do telescope comparisons too, that is awesome that you do side by side real comparisons, it is so difficult to find a serious telescope for adults for under 400 that is actually decent, Everything keeps coming back to- if you want the best, go for a 8 inch dobsonian, or a skywatcher heritage 150mm, Even with it being a lot more budget friendly you are hardly getting any real distance with the table top, and the full size dob is like $600 to $800 ish bucks, way to pricey for a first telescope, i mean yeah it may last, but it is very difficult to convince oneself to spend that much when you don't even know if you are going to like it, even with the interest and hype for doing it, But when you know that basically the dob is the best, well so many claim it is anyway, it is also very difficult for me to buy something else with so many mixed thing's being said about them, And knowing there is one's with some cool features like the app to guide you, the optional automated one's, But seeing these side by side shows me that the astromaster 130 really doesn't look that bad, it actually looks pretty decent. I would love to see more great telescopes compared but i know that has to be very expensive, I wish they would lower the prices of these thing's a bit & maybe more people would get into it, cause damn the buy in is very high.

I have several scopes of different sizes but my Grab and go, the scope I will choose above anything else, Is my Orion Apex 127mm mak-cassegrain. I will take it over any 8' scope I have and if i am using anything below 10" it will be the Apex 127. Focal length is not brutal for a mak. It is clear and sharp. Its cooldown is a bit of a pain I admit that, but that is the only downside I have with the scope. It is the most under recognized scope I have ever used. I am not lying when I tell you I will use it before my 8" dob. It is every bit as good at DSO and superior on planets.

Sorry I don't belive that . Diferent focal lenght can not give us that kind of similar images .

Can you explain how you got same magnification with 10mm eyepiece where as the focal length of the telescope differs by almost 300mm 😮

Hey, I was planning to buy the StarSense DX130AZ telescope. Will I be able to see the details of the planets properly if I view it directly through the eyepiece? Or does it look the same as what you’ve shown in the video, through your iPhone?

the astromaster 130 eq, the powerseeker 127 eq has a bad mount and poor collimation. while the astromaster 130 eq has a better mount and a permanent perfectly placed on finderscope and has great collimation, both are good beginner telescope but the astromaster 130eq has better magnification.
