Great job! I am currently building the same kit. Some of the obstacles I came across had to do with fitting the plastic sheets that must be bend and glued into the cylindrical shapes, with the intermediate cast plastic rings. It's a heck of a job to get them aligned and then glued together. The way I solved this was to sand the contact areas of the cast rings a tiny little little bit tapered so that the sheet rolled cylinders would slide over much easier. Only when I was sure that the fit was perfect, I added a little glue when they were half fit and then pressed the parts together. The gap that you showed in part one between the fairings on both sides of the first stage also appeared on my model, so I had to fill it too. How did you solve the fitting of the LM with the retracted feet into the 3rd stage? The instructions are not quite clear and show the complete lander visible through the clear part.

Tolles Video!!! Seh4 schön aufgezeigt und dokumentiert. Das Set habe ich auch und will es demnächst zusammenbauen. Allerdings wirs mir gerade bewusst, daß ich ein fähiges Airbrushsystem brauche. Was mache ich jetzt? Was brauche ich alles für ein Airbrush für zuhause?
@stsscalemodels9 ай бұрын
Vielen Dank! Man findet gute Einsteiger Sets.

Einfach in Modellbau-Shops bestellen bzw. kaufen. Gibt viel Auswahl und viele Hersteller (Vallejo, Tamiya, Ammo Mig etc.).

Do you have a paint list of all colors that you used? Is that air brush spray, if so what brand do you use? It looks fantastic!

Thanks very much! 😊 Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly which colors I used. Definitely black from Tamiya. The silver for the boosters was from AK I think.

First stage fins are all silver, not white on one side and black on the other. There are white radiator areas on the Service Module. The retro rockets on the second stage adapter are white, not red. The Launch Escape System is white with black nozzles and a silver tip at the very top. The incorrect roll pattern on the first stage has already been noted in the comments. Did you do any research before making this video, or did you just follow the instruction booklet? Also, the Lunar Module Descent Stage is gold and black, while the Lunar Module Ascent stage is primarily aluminum (silver) and black with touches of gold and other colors. The First Stage fin shrouds are silver on the bottom quarter. I'm not saying you need to refinish your model, but others wanting to build this correctly need to know the correct color scheme.

Nice, but that's not a Saturn V, that's a Saturn 500F (never flown). Can't believe after more than 50 years model companies are still getting that wrong.
@4130aykut9 ай бұрын
Really???
@michaelportaro69269 ай бұрын
Yes. All the true Saturn V's did not have the horizontal black band on the roll pattern on the first stage. They also had a block II Service Module - the 500F had a block I (never flown on a manned mission). Most of the Saturn V models were created before they ever flew and thus the 500F served as the reference.
@sanctemifyАй бұрын
I know this is an old comment but its incorrect. This IS a Saturn V painted like the 500F version of the Saturn V which didn't fly in the Apollo missions. It's still a Saturn V rocket, however. It's one of many Saturn V's built. The Apollo missions Saturn V's were series 501 for Apollo 4, 502 for Apollo 5 and so on. It's not the Apollo mission Saturn V versions (of which, each was different), but it's still a Saturn V rocket and incredibly important member of the family of Saturn Vs some of which went to the moon.
