There is actually enough room to get it underneath without messing with frame bolts. Just takes a little wiggling

Bro killer way to do. I paid a guy to change mine and he ended up dropping the sub frame to change it. Then I had someone I didn't use tell me he damn near has to take the whole front end off and I was like no I'm good thanks anyways. LoL

Glad to help. We try to leave subframes and such alone cause we live in PAso the salt makes everything rusty.

How did you refill the ac unit? With the plastic cap on the ac pipe and a can of r-134?

Yes, always get gauge with outside temp adjustments if possible..

@@backwoodzcustomz1549 Thank you. I recently got a 2006 Saturn VUE 3.5L 6cyl. A/C Compressor leaks! Also Service Vehicle indicator and Battery light come on at times. And the psngr side Airbag indicator light comes on at times. :(

I did the alt on my gfs Saturn I can’t do all that again. Gonna ruin a mechanics day and make them replace the compressor.

yea it's not a good time.. I has a 98 ford contour v6 5 speed.. Ford said it took 8 hours to do the job.. I did it one time.. Broke again I sold the car lol.. Was a sweet ride though.. had leather and all that..

You can do it however you like... We live in the rust belt.. bolts didn't wanna come out... Breaking 1 off is much more of a headache then this...

@@backwoodzcustomz1549 funny you say that the last one I did was rust free.. but soon as I dropped the subframe bolt it was dripping rust and water from inside the cavity..and the whole chassis bolt was alive with wet rust.

Look the only way to do this and have the AC compressor out in 30 to 45 minutes if you do it from underneath. Get yourself a tool to pop the plastic keepers off in the wheel well and around the front take off plastic 9/32 bolts. Of course take off the air filter housing so you can take the belt off now you can't see front bolt on the AC compressor through the wheel well extension and 15 mm underneath at an angle get the other 15 millimeter Bolt that finally pull that nut off 15 mm from the wheel well. Jack stands under the frame Jack under the front subframe pull the subframe Bolt on the passenger side lower the jack that will give you an extra inch and a half or so to easily pull it through right around the front of the subframe. Don't forget about the 13 mm nut on the ac lines and make sure damn sure you get the freon out of it before you pull that nut you get spray in the face and that s*** is nasty. Reverse procedure put it in after the first time you follow this you can do these in approximately 1 hour plus Evac recharge

Its clearly not the only way cause I have a whole video showing a different way. And the reason not to do it your way is if you break one of those subframe bolts your screwed.. which is why we did it this way cause they are rust and not worth the headaches..
