I transcribe them by ear and also (usually) write down sheet music in order to minimize rehearsal time! My policy is to only cover music from games that I've played, as the experience of the story and music in combination is so essential to one's personal perception of it. That being said, I'm a big fan of older RPGs, so I might try it out sometime =)

Hey i would really love to try to learn keyboards mainly so i can have fun playing some Golden Sun songs...would that heavily depend on the type of keyboard? or do most keyboards have universal sounds and it doesnt matter?
@Saturos024 жыл бұрын
@@Red4350 It depends. This synth has real instrument samples as well as primitive waveforms, and allows for a lot of parameter adjustment so you can tweak each sound to get what you want. I guess that's the case for most digital synths. I would suggest looking up demos of different models and see what clicks with you. You could of course just get a midi keyboard and play virtual instruments on a computer via usb. Even the free ones can sound really nice, but latency might be an issue.
@Red43504 жыл бұрын
@@Saturos02 ah i see " I would suggest looking up demos of different models and see what clicks with you." yeah thats sounds like a good idea i would try midi but my computer kinda sucks lol
@Red43504 жыл бұрын
@@Saturos02 is there anyway that you can recommend a newer synthesizer that would have the like whole "pan flute..ect ect" or is that a standard? cause i see the price for the Korg x50 on amazon and its like $900+...and since it came out in 2007 im guessing its a really good synthesizer
@Saturos024 жыл бұрын
@@Red4350 It is a decent all-round instrument, but not worth buying now I think. Any digital synth with a large soundbank is bound to include some different woodwinds, brass, bowed/plucked strings etc. The x50 inherited most sounds from the Triton series, but nowadays you can probably get better quality for a reasonable price. I'm not updated on this though, so I can't suggest anything in particular. Next buy for me is gonna be analog, but don't go there if you want real instrument sounds.

I remember reading somewhere that they ran out of tracks in this song (the GBA only allows 4 tracks simultaneously), so to add a 5th "instrument" they basically told the GBA's firmware to generate sounds. You know those beeping sounds your Windows desktop computer makes on startup even if there are no speakers plugged in? The way I understand it, it's roughly equivalent to using those to play music.

Are you telling me the lead synth was always detuned on purpose? That must be why I never can seem to be able to play it on the piano D:
@enciclopediamusicalilustra42504 жыл бұрын
The music in golden sun games series sometimes seems to be using Microtonality, that is to say, we are actually listening notes divided into even smaller notes. If a piano octave is divided into 12 keys, you would need to divide it into 24 in order to play either this song or some other songs that are using this microtonality, such as the synth heard in colosso battle theme and the saturos battle theme
