Jeremy Ng FF12 WAS A FREAKING AWESOME GAME. If anything it suffered from overcomplication in the gameplay which turned a lot of people off but as I am a diehard fan of anything Ivalice it was a work of art to me. It was like Vagrant Story in FF form

It was going to be even better if not for the writer having to leave the project. A few details such as Vaan, Penelo and Vayne's absurd finale might have never existed, and I get a feeling we'd get to explore Rozarria with Al-Cid.

@@purpleschala I think FF XII is a great game too but I'm not a hardcore fanatic of Ivalice instead I healthy enjoy it. From what I read online the issue people had with this game is that the characters were "underdeveloped" (mainly Vaan),the unanswered questions with the story and characters and the gambit system. The airships,Active Battle Dimension(ABD),the wonderful open world exploration of Ivalice,hunts and voice acting is fantastic and full of adventure but the characters lacked development and likability and the story was rushed and not explained well. Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XII:Revenant Wings deserves a proper remake (not a remastered version only) like Final Fantasy VII received.

So mesmerising, beautiful playing! I wasn't immediately bought into FF12's world, but after some time in it and in combination with the soundtrack, FF12's world is truly special. This is the best song in my opinion - and by quite a large margin. But The Forgotten City and To Walk Amongst Gods are two other standouts to me.

I know, it's weird, myself being all for XII's OST's, yet not ever listening to the originals, only the Piano Collections versions! Thank you for playing this, it sounds very emotional, almost nostalgic-ish, hehe. I love the precision, nuance and grace of your playing, I want to get to that point someday in the future... I've been playing the piano for 4 1/2 years now (self-taught since the age of 12 1/2, and I'm 17 now), and I've finally reached the point where I can say "I can no longer teach myself anything else, I need a teacher! ". I only ever learned pieces by ear up until four months ago, when I started teaching myself how to read sheet music. (Also, for Christmas I got the book for Piano Collections XII! ) I got a piano teacher two weeks ago, and things are running smoothly for me. Your playing inspires me, and I hope you continue on so that I may continue to be inspired to learn more about the beautiful instrument that is the piano. Thank you.

There is something incredibly haunting about this piece. As if you have these interspersed melodies throughout the piece giving voice to the Viera that have a more singular purpose, rather than obeying dogma and keeping to the woods. "Staying here is decay, entropy, outside is progress". Then you have that really chilling change in another section showing that the Viera who leave no longer may hear the voice of the wood... Truly, any choice that they make ends up costing them. Urgh, time to get the Zodiac Age and replay this great game :P.

That's what I love about piano arrangements, especially for texturally complex compositions as Sakimoto writes, a lot of those background instrumental lines are brought to the fore and it's a completely different experience listening to it on piano, yet still somehow the same.
