DKK elevates SJ2 By Dr Sudhakar Natarajan Milap Zaveri’s movie Satyameva Jayate 2 ( SJ2) that did not have the buoyancy of a tight storyline and able direction and would have surely sunk under the weight of not one but three brawny John Abrahams , if it did not have a redeeming factor of DKK ( Divya Khosla Kumar) whose eyes conveyed more emotions than the woody Hero screaming at the top of his voice or hammering hapless extras with his digitally enhanced muscles. This was one of those films where you felt that the movie would have been so much better if the gender roles would have been reversed to have three Divyas instead of three Johns. Divya was like a breath of fresh air and a painkiller for this headache inducing direction that basically strung together all the tragic incidents to have occurred in India for the past decade and postulated a ham-handed solution on how John as the vigilante hero could set things right by crushing a few bones and barbecuing a few villains. The scenes where Divya came on screen generated some interest amongst the audience not only for her ethereal charm but also for her brilliant acting especially in the emotional scenes , where she did full justice by getting into the skin of the character. This redeeming factor of SJ2 is that Bollywood has rediscovered Divya after a hiatus of ten years when she did not take on any assignments, due to reasons best known to her and her family. Bollywood missed her for ten years. But finally good sense has prevailed and she has once again lit up the silver screen with her talent and beauty that is of the standard of Madhubala and Meena Kumari. If not for Divya this movie would have sunk without a trace. Though Milap Zaveri and the producers of SJ2 deserve brickbats for making the audience endure this torture , they deserve bouquets for casting Divya Khosla Kumar and giving her a role in this movie. Divya is the only reason to see SJ2 and we hope that she gets a author backed role in her next film without the added weight of wooden faced heroes. The film is worth watching only to see the competent acting skills of Divya Khosla Kumar.
