No, I don't think so. Some Sauber-Mercedes like this are owned and operated by private teams who bought them. Surely Mercedes can help if particular pieces need to be rebuilt.

Beautiful machine and gorgeous sounding engine. One of my all-time favourites in the Sportscar Championship. I think Jochen Maas and Mauro Baldi were the main two drivers of those Mercs for a few seasons? Correct me if I'm wrong!!!!

I think it's too soon; I don't think the date has been made official yet. If I remember correctly, in 2022, it was the first weekend of May. I can only tell you to keep an eye on the circuit's FB page.

@Italiansupercarvideo glad you found it. I have a book from Time Life Books called How It's Made. It has a very detailed diagram for a formula one car from the 80s. I love watching videos on how all things are made. I watch many on engine building, and particularly films on restoring Mercury Cougars. I got quoted outrageous prices for restoring my Cougar. One shop told me 100k. They sell their own restored cars for half that. Another quoted me 70k. Again, their own restored street rods were half that. I've probably seen hundreds of programs and videos on building and restoring cars. My brother and I built a street rod we showed in Car Craft magazine in the 70s. It was a 1968 GTO. I kicked in a lot of money and painted a guys huge three story house, garage, and his work shop so we could get him to do delicious things to the cylinder heads. That car would pull the wheels off the ground through all four gears. Cheer

Großartig, muss ein Erlebnis sein, in einem Gruppe C-Auto zu sitzen.Dieser Mercedes war wahrscheinlich der ikonischste Vertreter der Gruppe C-Autos, er ist auch nach mehr als 30 Jahren noch immer ein beeindruckender Rennwagen. Ich habe irgendwo gelesen, dass es auch heute noch so konkurrenzfähig ist, dass es sich noch qualifizieren könnte, an einem Rennen mit modernen Autos teilnehmen zu können.

@@Italiansupercarvideo Ich hatte die Gelegenheit bei einem großen Mercedes Benz Autohändler in Karlsruhe das normale Publikum hat das gar nicht realisiert dass man in dieses Geschoss 😍⭐🏎️ einsteigen darf 😉 ich habe natürlich die Gelegenheit genutzt und mich gleich 3 mal in die Fahrerkanzel rein gesetzt 😇😇😇😁😁😁
