The first song Tim quotes is from "And So It Goes" by Billy Joel, reflecting on his break-up with Christy Brinkley, who, after hurting each other, retreat to neutral corners and come to a truce. They can't be together, but if a heart has to break, Billy offers his. It's rather wrenching to perform. But "Whip / Nae, Nae" is deep, too, right?
@irabourstein
@irabourstein Жыл бұрын
It wasn't about Christy. It's about his breakup with model Elle McPherson, shortly before before he met Ms. Brinkley.

I just love Billy Joel. There are great songs from the ‘70’s and 80’s that are so under appropriated. Of course people only remember the disasters not the great stuff. I was drawn to ballads like: Billy Joel’s And So It Goes; Extreme’s More Than Words; Dan Fogelberg’s Longer or John Denver’s Annie’s Song. But there is so much more. Thanks for your reaction

Natemares is hilarious. Strongly reccomend that one. Or,Green Eggs and Ham. Uncle Tim Runs his mouth is a great one too! One thing with videos being blocked, KZbin is very rigid about it. I believe it is primarily Sony you are contending with. Some of the early Home Free videos can get blocked as well and that's when they were with Sony. But Home Free is now independent so less reaction police there. I know Pentatonix doesn't like this policy and argues against it but we all know how corporate can be. It doesn't make sense to me at all. And I understand about the jealous/ not jealous thing. I was hoping to see them next month but real life sucks. sometimes.

I love watching this one! You are so right, though, about the sad difference in the older music when it had meaning, compared to music on mainstream radio today. I don’t listen to those much anymore. I listen to the stations that play older music, or listen to music from my phone that I chose, which is mostly from prior to 2000, with the exception of Home Free and a few select artists/songs. Prior to discovering these talented five guys, I was into Rock and Alternative, mostly. I have a suggestion for a reaction, but it’s not a story time with Tim, but a faux pas, of sorts, with Home Free. If you wish, check out “Colder Weather memory lapse”. It’s hilarious! I’ll just say somebody forgot some words and then other stuff happens.

That’s incredibly sweet what you were doing for that family, I really hope it went well. I have to ask, thinking about lyrics(also, Tim is a wonderful lyricist, maybe check out his song “I’ve Seen”(sung both by him solo, and by Home Free)) could you please check out Hozier? His lyrics are gorgeous, you’ve probably heard his song Take Me To Church, but he has so many more, and I really don’t think he has a bad one(what I would give to hear Austin sing one of his songs, seriously.) He has a new album coming this year, he said New Years Eve that it “will start to find its way to [our] ears next year come hell or high water” and is starting to tease lyrics, I’m so excited! If I’ve managed to convince you to take a peek, Work Song is one of the sweetest love songs, and works so beautifully live, you can tell that he really loves music For this song, some fans got together to organize a music video shoot for it, which he didn’t think would be possible for it because it’s not one of the “single-type songs” that would typically be funded for a music video, and to thank them he did a private concert - The video titled “Hozier - Work Song // Live” is from that concert, and I think would be a wonderful introduction! (his band/touring musicians are also incredibly talented) I’d also recommend “To Be Alone - Live in Kilkenny” and “Almost(Sweet Music)” plus(maybe a double reaction because this video is super short) the “Hozier - Almost Clapping Breakdown” afterwards? That is, if you see this comment 😅 Happy New Year!

And So It Goes - KZbin www.youtube.com › watch Lyrics In every heart there is a room A sanctuary safe and strong To heal the wounds from lovers past Until a new one comes along I spoke to you in cautious tones You answered me with no pretense And still I feel I said too much My silence is my self defense And every time I've held a rose It seems I only felt the thorns And so it goes, and so it goes And so will you, soon, I suppose But if my silence made you leave Then that would be my worst mistake So I will share this room with you And you can have this heart to break And this is why my eyes are closed It's just as well for all I've seen And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows So I would choose to be with you That's if the choice were mine to make But you can make decisions too And you can have this heart to break And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Joel William M And So It Goes lyrics © Joelsongs

Many of the reactors that I subscribe to started their channels to keep classic music alive instead of allowing it to fade into obscurity. Most agree that today's music sucks, that's it's so overproduced, auto-tuned and formulaic that it's trash. They are discovering Led Zeppelin, Sam Cooke, and Journey for the first time, learning what Bob Dylan, Billy Joel and Paul McCartney and their lyricism are all about, and finding great KZbin artists that haven't hit the main stream yet like Home Free, Teddy Swims and Colter Wall. I hate to start a sentence like this, but back when I was a kid there were only two genres of music---country and rock and roll. Now that rock has divided itself up into sub genres, a child can grow up only ever hearing rap without hearing rock, listening to alternative without exposure to r&b. They can do all of this without learning where the genres came from and that the foundations were laid back in the 60s and 70s. It truly is sad. They've lost their musical heritage.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2KUi5uClKasfpo This is the one that contains "count the bacons". It's quite long (almost 20 minutes), but I think it's worth it.

I totally agree! Such junk out there nowadays. I used to get mad at my Dad, who was born in 1935, and would say that stuff you listen to is junk. It's only getting worse! I don't think the 80's music was this bad.

Before Chance joined. Makes you afraid of our future with people who liked this . Whip Nay Nay Thing to vote it top of the charts Not calling it music. Due to Rob getting Covid they are changing schedules around. Recheck your area. You should do Tim Eats.
