This is a great overview of the whole range of Saucony shoes. I really like the nuanced discussion about stability, post-feeling vs. guidance, etc. As someone who always accepted that I needed "motion control" bricks back in the day (e.g., original Air Structure vs Air Span), I've found that I do perfectly fine with the Tempus and GT-2000, and save the bulkier (usually more protective) shoes for super easy or recovery days.

Like the OG Tempus …Can’t put my finger on what’s different about the Tempus 2 (supposedly just upper update) but it doesn’t work quite as well for me. Still in my top 3 that I pull for must of my runs (mid pack runner)

I have a love story with Saucony: the best marathons I´ve run has been with Kinvara 3 and years later the Speed 2. Now I´m with the speed 4 basically for speed-threshold sessions and sometimes for easy medium runs. Love them all but the Speed 2 is the GOAT for me. Incredible shoe.

I was a Guide wearer for YEARS. They lost me with the 17 and they also lost my daughter. She has a pair of the Omni 22 arriving tomorrow hoping this is the answer. She and I both had the same issue with the Hurricane 24. She needs to feel the arch support, I just need a higher drop and less extreme rocker (i.e. in the Guide 17 and I assume the 18). I LOVE the Tempus - I've had both versions, several pairs, and if I had to pick just one to live in forever, it would be the Tempus. None of our local running stores sell it so I'm worried it will be discontinued someday :( For easy/slow run stability I just finally made my own version - I'm running in the Triumph with inserts. Seems to be the best of both worlds. So far anyway.

Listened to the Spotify podcast released earlier in the week. Bought Speed 2 last week in Bangkok where I live and what a fun pair of shoes. Speed 4 seems tame, hope 5 is wilder. Overall I prefer the 3 as like wider toebox. Pity can't buy Sinister in Bangkok, Topo Cyclone 2 has been a fantastic alternative. Keep up the good work.

Lol, I just broke out my last pair of new Speed 2s, what an awesome shoe. I’m not a good runner (I’m a fitness runner), running in it is like driving a fun sport car.

The Kinvara 13s were one of my faves. I did my last Ironman in them (Sept 2023). Then they ruined it with the 14s. Good thing I still have 2 pairs of the 13s that I found on sale

I started running last year and bought a Guide 17 (I'm an overpronator). The Guide 17 is quite worn so I just upgraded and bought two new pairs: Hurricane 24 and Tempus 2. They complement each other nicely. Will retire my Guide 17.

My gateway Endorphin Speed was v3. I know a lot of folks disliked the stiffness, tbh that’s why they work for me (2nd met issues). I want to like v4 but just too squirrelly for me. Holding out hope for v5 otherwise I’m in search of v3 in a men’s 9.5, hit me up if you have a box in your quiver 😊
@CMDV8N37 күн бұрын
Short answer: Speed, Pro, can’t go wrong with either. Possibly Tempus and Kinvara. Better alternatives for rest of lineup. Great review of entire line, hope to see more. Ty!

@ I’ve had Kinvaras off and on since V1; personally I like the newer higher stack versions - same low weight, a little more cushion, my knees can’t take the low stack on pavement anymore😆

I love my Saucony shoes. I have Ride 27, Triumph 21 and 22, Ice 3, and Endophin Speed 4. I won’t buy another Saucony shoe because they are an American company. Trump tariff threats are enough to make me look at Puma, Adidas, and ASICS. I hope that every Canadian runner boycotts American companies.
