Saudi Arabia has an arch enemy and they're just across the Gulf. Iran wants to see the monarchy of Saudi Arabia overthrown, and for an Islamic Republic to be established. This is one of the great power rivalries of the 20th and 21st century, that's now turning increasingly hot.

Good video, bit short, light on details. The censored part is idiotic at best. It's not like i missed what happened that faithful day... Also, the religious differences between Iran and SA are a footnote at best in your video. Where as Iran is governed by a theocracy, skipping over that important and big part of the country's culture feels a bit rude. But it's probably another issue with youtube...

Hey I totally get your point as a US Citizen. Our country and our people, at least in the past up till a couple years ago, has had a morally great attitude. We have slowly fallen to deceitful media, deceitful businesses, and most egregiously a government that believes it knows better than the intellectuals and historians or has selfish intentions it goes after without our knowledge. I would like to learn more about this involvement that you speak about. As many mistakes the US has definitely made, I believe you are exaggerating the extent, intent, and effect of involvement the US has had in other countries. I started realizing this after a large number of people blamed Britain and even the US for the violence involving Israel. The truth is, the British did have problems running the area, but those problems existed before the British became involved. In fact, the Jews moved to Israel to settle in 1980ish and the lands were abandoned and barren. The jewish started this immigration once they found out that their homeland was abandoned and wasn’t being used. Then, the Arabs who had zero interest in it before sent Arab settlers because they didn’t want a Jewish majority having a state even inside of an Arab empire. So most of the issues with the British had to do with preexisting violence and aggression from Arab Nationalists and Empire desires. You can also shorten that explanation to greed and racism against Jews. The Jewish people moved into an empty land that was unused and unclaimed for miles, and all of the Arab settlers aka 99% of the Palestinians were an attempt at apartheid and ethnic cleansing. While many Palestinians are innocent people they have zero right to the lands. Their claims and arguments are built on an apartheid racist scheme. So they have zero validity there, and it’s not the Jewish peoples fault that they were made false promises and used as pawns.

But I guess my point here is that I’m guessing in many of those cases the situation was already complex and set for failure. I’m sure some of those situations are the fault of the US, but I would also guess many of them have a more potent underlying cause.

I thought that the main reason for the disputes between Saudi Arabia and Iran was religion. Competition in oil doesn't make much sense to me, because until recently (I don't know if even today) Iran was taking its oil abroad (I mean to Kuwait) for further processing, as it was not usable for export. And then there's another reason that had to do with the Cold War. Iran was an ally of the socialist countries, while Iraq was of America.

No, it is not a religious conflict at all, but rather it was fabricated by America in an attempt to increase the conflict between them. Shiites constitute 7% of Muslims around the world, and even this 7% has a division in it . Persian Shiites are not like Arab Shiites, for Arab Shiites refer to Iraq while the Persians refer to Iran. Also there is ethnic conflict between the two countries, Arabs and Persians, but religion contains most of it, except for a few fanatics, but the real conflict is political.

Its the same thing as Protestants vs Catholics.
@debragriffin6790
@debragriffin6790 Ай бұрын
Never thought about it that way. Prior to the Reformation, Christians were Catholics, until a Catholic priest rebelled against some Catholic ideologies. The Reformation was very bloody and the Catholic priest (Martin Luther) was on the run and declared a heretic. Of course, today, the Catholics and the Protestants have resolved their differences and get along pretty well. Not so with Sunni and Shiites. Although both follow Islam and are Muslims, they do have differing views, which happened after the Prophet died. They also speak and write a different language and Iranians are not Arabs.

The elephant in the room is that this is a battle to death between descendants of Abraham who greatly despise the concept that Jesus is God's Son who descended to earth to teach us our duties toward God and our fellow humans. Jesus was a Jew who claimed Moses and all other prophets derived their teachings through Him. Jesus was hated to death by many His fellow Jews because He clamed to be one with God. Hate and wars will never be eliminated from earth until believers in Jesus as the Son of God are not given full first amendment rights to recite and teach Jesus' message about our duties toward God and our fellow humans in every room of all private and government buildings and wherever the go..

However things are started to change, mainly after Donald Trump left the white house, as the Saudis started to shift their alliance away from the west to the east specifically China and Russia, and given that Iran is one of the most important allies to these countries, the Saudis had to start negotiating with Iran, not to mention that Iran did win almost every proxy war Saudi Arabia fought against, so in a way you could say Iran is currently the controlling power of the region.

Both follow Islam and are Muslims, but believe differently. Mormons and Jehovahs are not Christian based. They do not believe in the Trinity and are referred to as cults.
