Very smooth landing. This is brand new airplane who just released from the manufacturer. It looks like one of the flap torque tubes sheared which causes the flap to stock in retract position I think it a Design problem. Boeing need to improve B787 which faced several issue since production.

So am I right in saying... flaps didn't deploy so aircraft had to take landing at much higher velocity than usual and rely on wheel brakes and reverse thrust only to come to a stop?

The flap were stuck in the wrong position for landing meaning it was going at lot faster, yeah you are right.

Don't see why the fire trucks are not stationed at the opposite side of the runway from which the aircraft lands...this way they will be on the spot quicker. They need not waste time chasing behind the problem aircraft. But..I suppose they know their job.

The flaps were stuck so that meant the pilot had to land with higher speed that which can cause the plane to skid on a wet runway and cause a structural damage. "the flaps help the plane land on much lower speed"

It was rain in Manchester and the Captain wasn't supposed to land in a wet Runway and also the Flaps were kinda watery or sticky so he was revolving around for 4 hours.

Atif Taha المشكله ان فيه شي اسمه الفلابس هذا يستخدم للاقلاع والهبوط في الهبوط يستخدم بعد اطفاء المحرك وخصوصا اذا اقترب من المطار هذا يساعد الطائره على الهبوط بسرعه خفيفه حتى تهبط على المدرج وبعدها يستخدم لاقصى درجه وهي ٤٠ لايقاف الطائره في هذه الحاله تعطل وصار لا يعمل وبكذا الطيار لن يتمكن من الوقوف في المكان الصحيح بسبب الامطار انتظروا لين قلة نسبة المياه على المدرج وسمحوا له بالهبوط اضطراري ولكن بمشيئة الله ولطفه ثم مهارة الطيار الحارثي توقفت في المكان الصحيح
