Dude, half the good movies these days are made independently, which still can be a crazy process. Crazy stories about Joaquin Phoenix come out every few years. If Johnny Depp can create Capt. Jack Sparrow when Disney execs are basically threatening to fire him, well, plenty of things are still possible. For the most part, actors aren't going to behave that way. Forget about the execs.

You just gotta love Americans and their understanding (built through Hellyweird and USA TV and Mary Poppins) of "the BRITISH ACCENT!" Actually that should be THE British accent, as if there's not thousands of them. You've also gotta love a "professional actor" complaining that the director wants them to NOT BE THEMSELVES in "acting" 🤨🤨 From his impersonation he seems to think Tony and Ridley Scott were born in some wormhole connecting Dick Van Dyke, Crocodile Dundee and Jason Statham. Play a real Geordie accent {these Scotts are from North Shields, Northumberland} and then 99% of the USA, Germany, France et cetera would think they were speaking Russian. Wake up America. It is not like your amazing country doesn't have many many accents and dialects......something you'd hope a highly paid "actor" would know at least.

Interesting take but I find it hard to believe he didn't know who Joel Silver was back then. I worked mostly in production in LA in the early 90's and knew exactly who he was. I had heard some stories about him and crossed paths with him very briefly twice but not enough to necessarily know his mannerisms. I've always liked Rubinek's work. As for telling him to - himself, sometimes saying no, or standing up to someone for being a jerk, has some interesting effects in the business.

Right. Joel Silver was one of the biggest film producers in the 80s and 90s (and is still working). If it was an action film, he was probably doing it. He was right up there with Jerry Bruckheimer. Even if Saul didn’t work with him, the guy was a living legend and everyone in Hollywood knew who Joe Silver was - and that he possessed a certain “personality type.” I had recently started in Hollywood and even I knew him; Saul I think was being difficult with Tony. If you take Henry at his word, he said he (after having an audition with Michael Bay before where Michael Bay was basically a rude arrogant pr**) Henry read the lines like he didn't give a f*** then scrunched up the script and threw it at Michael Bay saying "Have a great f****in movie!" As Henry was walking out the door, Bay asked him to stop and if he could please come in and do exactly what he'd just done "one more time staring directly into the camera?" And he was in Bad Boys 2 as a Swat Team leader guy.
