I love redraws like this because there's such a dramatic difference after 8 years of experience! The new sprites look great; values are on point, and I love the SF Alpha influence. I also admire you taking the time to create the background, it really elevates the drama for the combination of poses you selected and shows how far you've come 😁 btw I had no idea you were running a community challenge for redraws; I think I inadvertently submitted my entry with my previous video 😅
@saultoons3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much man! Even during this there were some slip ups and things I would change but we’ll have to see how I improve that after another long time 🤣 SF Alpha looks so good, right!?!? I have to try making something directly in that size and style one time. Hahah dude I loved seeing your recent redraw, you’re a constant inspiration, I watched you do your first Hulk drawing again from a while back and that’s actually what inspired this community challenge!!! ❤️ Always so excited to see what you do next 😁
@BJGpixel3 жыл бұрын
@@saultoons Probably good to have some challenge/slip-ups because it just means you're still pushing yourself even while composing the new one - plus it'll give something to catch in another 8 years 😅 Oh very cool, happy that could inspire this! An easy tip for static poses is to draw a vertical line downwards from the head and see if it's off-center or not. The opposite works well to suggest motion/instability (character fallong etc.)

@saultoons Жыл бұрын
Any time you want something to be more realistic, you're going to need to refer to real life. So learning anatomy and posing can help, always use reference, and note here that the amount of pixels is larger so they can fit more details in. Hope that helps!

How do you work on pieces like these? Every time I start a big piece I do well, but when I take a break I lose all motivation to finish said piece and work on another one, leaving me with lots of unfinished works
@saultoons3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it can be difficult, I think you have to build up to big pieces because they can be demotivating. Finishing work is an important skill in itself, so if you struggle finishing things, just reduce the task so you can get it done. You'll learn much more from finishing a piece than not, so start small with projects and build your way up. For me, a lot of it comes down to discipline as well, I typically only work on one thing at a time, I take regular breaks but this forces me to finish it because I know I can't start anything else until it's done. I might not always be happy with the final result but I learn so much through finishing it. If you need any more help come and join the discord and we'll do our best
