Sending stuff between android phones doesn't suck. The producer guy is right. I think the near ubiquity of Apple in the US has made it seem as though the competition are crappy, when really it's just the interaction with apple products is sometimes infuriating, but it's 100% on Apple.

I don't know if you guys were just talking about voters who were undecided in general, but the actual "Undecided Movement" is mainly people who are unhappy with Kamala and the Democratic Party's stance on Palestine and the lack of action taken to carry out an arms embargo on Israel. The movement is mostly made up of the Muslim community in Michigan and leftists in general, as well as people sympathetic to the movement. The random undecided voter who is split between Trump and Kamala is actually very rare compared to people in the Undecided Movement who normally would vote Democrat but are single-issue voters when it comes to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

It's really tricky to keep relationships healthy with people with nasty political opinions, particularly in today's climate. The stakes are just getting so high. I've got some pretty ignorant conservative religious parents that guzzle Fox News every day. I love them, but I also support women's bodily autonomy and, you know, the existence of LGBTQ people. They're too prideful to admit that they're wrong, but otherwise good people. I know that they would change their opinions if they just talked to a trans person for 5 minutes, but I know that isn't ever going to happen. They're too entrenched. It's tough. I think we're just forever at a stalemate where we both know that it would only separate us if we talked about it. The best I can do is undo their votes with mine.

People vastly underestimate (in others and in themselves) how their conditions shape their world view. Your parents worldview, how they raised you, your class position, and obviously your race/sex/gender identity are all extremely influential in how you think about the world! So one conversation or even a small set of conversations isn't going to change anyone's mind. much more likely, and unfortunately, something has to happen to THEM that challenges their world view for change to occur! Thats why you see historically 2A advocates call for gun control when a mass shooting impacts THEIR life in some way.

I do agree with Anisa about disconnecting from people because of their politics (I've had to do that) but I also agree with Dane's take. I'm trans and I think that I've actually gotten somewhere with people by not immediately dismissing them for having a warped point of view. I do try to always give people a chance to learn and to talk, though I think it also depends on the issue. Like I've never had to engage irl with someone who's anti-abortion or with someone who has really violent beliefs so idk if I'd be capable of not getting overwhelmed in those kinds of encounters.

Sending media on android to android is fine. It's been proven that Apple degrades the quality of media sent and makes it intentionally harder. I'm with Anisa on Hauck Tuah not being that funny and kind of a dead horse on arrival meme. It just seems to me like a woman made an extremely crass joke on camera once. And don't get me wrong, it was funny when she said it, but it doesn't deserve to stick around like it has. Like I'm pretty sure if it was a dude who said it, nobody would really care anymore. I support gun regulation, but banning "assault weapons" really isn't that good of a law. It's really hard to define what is an "assault weapon" so whenever a definition is established for legal purposes, there's all sorts of ways people get around them. If you look up a pistol caliber carbine (PCC), specifically an AR-9, many people would look at it and think it is an "assault weapon" when it can legally be a pistol, a small barrel rifle, or a regular rifle depending on some of the specific parts it has. Also, statistically, a pistol is more dangerous than a rifle. More crimes are committed with pistols than any other type of gun. There's also a lot of fear mongering about "ghost guns" which are guns that people make themself typically either with a 3d printer or buying an 80% complete lower that you can finish on your own. "Ghost guns" are very rarely used to commit crimes, and most of the people to make their own "ghost gun" are really just nerds whose special interest is guns. Most guns used in crimes, whether it's a spree shooting, robbing a bank, or killing someone, were purchased legally. I think the best regulations would be to extend the waiting period, some sort of national database of who isn't allowed to purchase a gun/expanding red flag laws, and a national registry for all guns with a way to register a "ghost gun."
