The problem is that you are just not funny anymore. No, slurs have nothing to do with it. I'm sick of seeing that strawman because it just isn't true. Yes, I'm sure there are a very minor amount of people who criticize you for not saying slurs anymore, but the vast majority of the criticism is that you lost your personality and your humor. You aren't a good entertainer anymore.

Anisa grew up like me, my mom was a nurse but was a god tier cleaner, and taught us how to do a lot of it. Most are not growing up like we did Anisa, I remember my whole childhood I basically thought every house I went to but ours was dirty because we are definitely the outliers, not those who can't/don't clean as much

my son is only six months but we definitely needed to save a lot of money for both my husband and I to take six months off when he was first born. We both work full time and we’re going to continue to work full time and just had to put him in a very expensive daycare that we had to get on the waitlist for back when I was freshly pregnant. Sometimes cleaning just doesn’t get done or you have to do it when our son is happy to watch me do it and I explain and show everything to him just to keep him entertained. Or I do it all exhausted after he goes to sleep 😅

I have a little/lotta bit-of-advice for dane, since he brought up that dust is kind of an issue: check your air filters. I don't know if you have just a mini-split, just one of those units that hangs out the window, or a fully ducted system, but increasing the level of airflow in your place can decrease the level of dust by a shocking amount. Most hvac systems are meant to have their filters changed out like every 3 months or so, pretty regularly. I dunno if this is something you've been doing or not, and apparently just below 3/10 of people never change it, so that could be helpful. It's one of those things like changing the lint filter in your dryer, and how some people just never do it because they don't know about it and then their house catches on fire, except with the air filters it just gives you childhood asthma. I'd also advocate for the use of fans in your space to increase the airflow. I'd probably recommend one or two of those rotating tower fans, since those are pretty easy to just set up and kind of forget about, but you can also achieve pretty good effects with a more conventional fan, like a floor fan or box fan, that's positioned well, which might offer better airflow. You might need to change the arrangement of furniture a little bit if it's creating dead spaces that air can't really penetrate into. Shelving that goes along the walls is a bitch for this, and so is the underside of couches and stuff like that. It's hard to encourage airflow when it's cold outside, and eliminate dust that way, since you can't open windows, and generally people don't want their fans to be on since they think it'll inherently make them colder, but you should probably just position your fans in such a way as to not blow on you directly. Pollen's a problem when it's warm outside anyways with all these stupid male trees everyone's planting everywhere. If you're really struggling, and your mini-split or window unit's filter is getting clogged too quickly or isn't really performing well, you could try making a corsi-rosenthal box, or if space is at a premium, even just attach a normal furnace air filter to the back of a normal box fan or floor fan. Those were popular solutions during covid as a cheap and effective air-filtration method, and they also work pretty well on dust and pollen and stuff. Ian could probably help you with that as a fun team-building activity or project, that seems like the sort of thing he would enjoy. Also I'm sorry that this is the third pod in a row that I'm leaving a super long-ass comment, but I'm a lonely nighttime janitor, so I listen to a lot of podcasts and I have a lot of time to think about things that nobody cares about. Especially when I'm cleaning the dust out from the knickknacks on someone's cripplingly cluttered cubicle. Edit: I also forgot, but if you do have air ducts, getting those cleaned/cleaning those out will probably help a lot, they can contain a lot of ambient dust.

Whoa whoa whoa hold up-- At 7:23 when you say _"It was hanging there for awhile"_ Were you referring to the sock or the drool? And what does Ian mean when he says _"only 1 day used sock"_ ?? My first interpretation of this scenario was that Ian sometimes wears socks for several days in a row, and had to sacrifice one that had only been in rotation for 24 hours to clean up some dog drool that had been dangling off the bed/adjacent furniture for hours, or days, somehow...? My brain clearly took a wrong turn somewhere in processing that information but I'm too afraid to ask precisely where.

Whenever you see some scientific news or news about any type of discovery on social media, the correct reaction is just -"Huh, cool i guess". Then you forget about it, assume its false, and unless some actual specialist and researchers start talking about, it was false.

I have two kids, and I have no idea how single parents do it. My wife is a stay at home mom and her parents live with us (her dad works, her mom helps around here). Her mom takes the "morning shift" with the kids, and my wife usually tags her out after breakfast. They're also the primary cleaners of the house and do a great job. I could/should help out more when it comes to cleaning and want to do better in 2025. Starting is the hardest part.

When my family moved into the house I grew up in it was actually an ex crack den. Because of this we rented half of a duplex down the street for like a month before moving in so that my parents could clean up the place. The basement was full of dog shit 😭 looks beautiful now after 25 years of gradual repair and renovation

I’m trying to make some money this year. It’s a tricky balance between working enough to afford physiotherapy, without doing so much that I need MORE physio. The treatments work but my muscles are gnarly and stubborn. So I’m manifesting relaxed, healthy muscles, clients who are happy and able to support me, and opportunities to sharpen my skills. Best of luck in all your next year’s endeavours everyone, take good care.
