I saw Who-Tee-Who video when I first saw this rifle like you. You're the only other video I've seen on this rifle & I'm planning on ordering this rifle in .223 when I get the money next week. Thanks for the video. If I like it in .223, I'm also planning on getting one in 30-06 for hunting.

I am a fan of larger diameter base screws and applaud this IMPROVEMENT. I have not had problems with two piece bases and consider it a win they are included. There are plenty of scopes that will fit... your ding is a non issue for me.

I ordered the exact right weaver base. From amazon. The exact thread pitch. Worked perfect. It was like 25 bucks.

The 110 used to be used for military and police. A long time ago, great, great gun.

When you get a chance, can you pop the action out of the stock and see if it has a full aluminum bedding block and not just the two aluminum pillers for mounting the action in the hogue over molded stock? It would be much appreciated if you could verify this. Seems like this would be mentioned more in the literature if that is the case. I have had the hogue stocks and don't care for the pillar bedded ones.. But have had great accuracy with the aluminum bedding block ones. Thanks!

Mine is only pillar bedded, regrettably. A fully bedded version of the stock is available on e Arthur brown though, I believe.

prefer the look of rifle with two piece bases, I think Savage got it RIGHT. I do not think they should change their offering on bases or increase price for a rail.

Thanks for the vid. What's your opinion on the Savage Ultralight in 7mm PRC? Im trying to choose between it and a Tikka T3X lite stainless 7mm Rem Mag.

The houge stock has 2 issues. 1 of its the standard hogue it is flexy. 2 the grip is far from the trigger.

The flimsy plastic magazine catch is a no go. I have had those break on Savage Axis rifles 2 different times. Savage, do your customers better and spend the $2 to make a metal clip or use existing savage metal magazines. Because of this, I won't buy this rifle. That magazine is unreliable and it failed in the past on me.

This has a new design of magazine catch, rather than a cheap piece of spring plastic it is a button assembly that seems much more robust. Still going to switch to AICS bottom metal on my trail hunter, but It seems like an improvement over the older style mags.

This is a great starter platform for a build, if you plan on throwing the stock and bottom metal in the trash.

I got rid of my Savage just because of the clip! Plastic catch didn’t snap in properly and was noisy. It just drove me crazy. Savage needs to fix this and charge another $10 for the gun!,

They won’t fit the pic rail he has is drilled for 6-48 screws the holes are too small that’s drilled in the rail for the 8-40 screws that that receiver requires savage changed it in 2019 I believe because all axis are the same way now

Savage doesn’t brake very many of their rifles from the factory, they have a few that come standard, but you can find them fairly cheap just about anywhere that sells sporting goods and firearm stuff.

It should. I am not sure about the barrel diameter though. If the stock you have was used or could have been used with a heavier barrel then it will. The accu stock also has to be for a 110 action and not a savage axis or similar.

It's the same reciever from the 110 precision but it's not factory blueprinted! I haven't checked the apex reciever but the closed top action is pretty slick imo

I got one in 6.5.. got on paper with some 140grain Aguila. The first 3 shot group at 100 off a rest was 0.87 with 140grain of Remmy CL It could weigh 25 lbs, its only a 200 walk to the stand from where i park lol. Great channel. Respect from the Big Country of Texas!

I will NEVER buy a gun where the safety does not lock the bolt. I refuse to look down at my action to find it hanging open, the round fallen out, and it full of trash. The real, serious, hunting rifles have this feature i.e. CZ/Sako/Mauser98/Win70/Ruger77

Crazy how they jacked the prices up on it… I believe that the 110 action is worth the $600 vs the ruger American or the savage axis models. However, it’s hard to complain with the accuracy that the ruger American line up and savage axis gives you for less money. If I was between this gun and the ruger American Gen 2 I think I would pick this Savage 110 trail because the 110 action is just a superior action vs the American.
