I think this is great advice. Don’t forget boys. You don’t have to start at your goal. If your goal is to shadow box one hour a day. Start with 10 mins a day, then 15 mins, 20 mins. You get a confidence boost everyday you do just a little more and you will be at an hour in no time. Beauty of life is that it doesn’t matter where you start, only matters that you don’t give up. Thanks for the great tip coach! Peace.

When I started kick boxing back in 1983, my sensei John Rosas Jr. didn't have us do anything for the first month or two except workout and learn basic striking facing a wall of mirrors. Form was the most important fundamental, then flexibility and strength. Then we started very light training drills and light sparring and eventually, those who could take it had to be invited to join the full contact training. People watch professionals fight and never stop to think of the time and dedication it took to get them to that point. There are no short cuts. That's tougher to understand the older someone is when they start training :)

Sounds pretty good. I just wonder, if you do 2 months 1 hour/day worth of unsupervised shadowboxing as a beginner, you might build A LOT of bad habits that have to be corrected later. But I guess if it's to be seen as a preparation before the "first training", it will still give you a gigantic head start since with some practice you can get rid of these errors

Ive been boxing/training for around 13 years and i have to agree with everything in This video and i like how you kept it simple yet focusing on exactly what a beginner boxer should be doing. I always heard the old saying that boxing is 90% mental -10% physical and that is very true. The only thing i would do differently is for the shadowboxing i would first teach a stance and jab then straight right/left ( depending on southpaw or orthodox )then lead hook and show the beginner how to put it in combos and while shadowboxing mix and match punches into combos. As the beginner shadowboxes they can ingrain basic fundementals . But i agree with you all the way. This is exactly how im starting my son. Roadwork/shadowboxing for 1st 2 months. I never put thought into not having music or headphones on, after watching this video it makes sense. Thankyou and God bless

Thank you for these videos! It's amazing what sticking to basics can do for you especially because I'm not even training to fight and just trying to be active everyday. 😄 I'd like to add, doing some breathing exercises on your rest days. 30 Minutes. 1st - 10 minutes - Sit and relax on a chair, inhale from nose and out to mouth. Do it as slow as possible. NO MUSIC! 2nd - 10 minutes - lay down on the ground on your back, get one of them pink 3 lbs. dumbbells and place it on your stomach. inhale from mouth, exhale to nose. As slow as you can. (This is basically a modified Stephen Curry breathing exercise where his trainer keeps adding sandbags on him as he breathes in and out on the ground) 3rd - 10 minutes (the most difficult one) - Find something to read online that you really dislike (nothing messed up) just something that makes you wanna punch a wall because you disagree with it so much. Once you're done, try to calm yourself within 5 minutes while doing some quiet inhales and exhales. Then the remaining 5 minutes, you think about what you're gonna do for the day and move on.

Sick! I'm currently trying out your 30m savage boxing workout. but this is very interesting. I want to continue the savage workout and do it for this year and see my progress. I am a kickboxer so its a bit different but still the movement and shadow boxing do help with kickboxing. though this may be my must-have addition to the holiday program.

Sir, this is proper and professional training. The body becomes a sharpened weapon. Alot of people tend to miss the Conditioning aspect. Some Lung power mixed with strength and you have dynamite...💥

Good on u mate❤!I'm heading back too..boxing is fun so good way to get fit and enjoy yourself...maybe end up helping the young ones in sparring especially at 6.2(if can get fit enough

@@dwight4800 hardest thing for me has been stamina issues relating to weight and conditioning being very poor and food addictions the most important thing in this tutorial it’s teaching discipline and use of mind , if you keep doing it it’s in your sub conscious mind so you act it out without second thought I have failed over the years again and again

@@cassk9999we associate our memories and habits with our environment. I would advise moving to another location ... it doesn't have to be far but a place that you don't know where your favourite food places are... as they say out of sight out of mind. This will make it less likely these places will come to mind because you don't know where they are in the first place.

@@hebisty4163 hi thank for the tip , these days establishments selling fast food are unavoidable they are popping up in even the most remote of places so unless we move to the moon we will have to refrain and one way I’m doing it is by stay full with fibre and veg and detoxing the body using green tea and other supplements that suppress appetite another thing I’ve noticed it’s easy to over-eat on pizza and fried chicken but it’s hard to overeat on sweet potatoes tuna and brown rice so our brains and tongue is being tricked by the crap and artificial and modified foods are like crack , obesity on the rise in Europe and America faster than anywhere else on earth
