Savage makes excellent rifles. I own the Model 64 and the Mark II. My Mark II does not have the adjustable trigger. It's a Walmart special with the black fiber stock. For $156, there are no complaints. I do think that the bolt could use a little polishing though just to smooth it out.

I purchased the Mark 2-F last week, I've put a few rounds thru it so far. and I like how accurate it is out of the box. I saw the same model G like yours at a local gun / sports store today for around 300. It looked pretty nice with a scope.

These guns are the best buy in my opinion for the money hands down!

I took my Mark II to the range ( indoors) this morning to site in the scope, started out at 15, then 25, then finally at 50 yards. wished I could share the pictures. It went Great 1/4 to 1 inch groups. until I started shooting at distance, but that's just because of me. I still got some nice groups at 50, but the 15 and 25 were far better. Basically All of my good groups will fit within a dime size. out of 50 rounds I had 7 flyers of this 7 only 3 were complete misses. ( I adjusted the scope in the wrong direction.) The other 4 were hits. though 2 were responsible for taking the side of the targets right ear off. ( I was shooting a human sized target / B21E Bones.) the other two were cranium hits but we're at least 2 inches apart. ( most likely my fault) otherwise it's was a really good shoot and the Mark 2 performed flawlessly.

What does the safety DO? Does it block the trigger? The firing pin(s)? The bolt? Everything? Does it stop you cycling the gun? How does the accutrigger work? Is the 21.5" barrel long or short in that class? Is that a heavy barrel? A light barrel? An Average Barrel for that length? Does it have any hiccups with any particular ammo? (the answer should be no, since it's a frigging bolt action, but stranger things have happened) How does it shoot? What's the weight on the accutrigger like on each stage? Is there a disadvantage to "pressed wood"? But yeah, it's range-ready out of the box. You can go get some critters. And it has iron sights (are they zeroed?). Because that's all anyone should care about in a .22 rifle. Did I mention the apocalypse yet?

You mentioned not to use .22 Shorts or Longs,..( at the 3:39 mark ) .I have used the shorts all day long,..BUT I load them one at a time..i.e. I don`t use the supplied magazine for this size ammo. These Savage rifles are every bit as good as CZ rifles,...I have a couple of those too,.and truthfully, the Savage is better, if not, then just as good. ( depends on the shooter) Seeing that you mention Ruger a lot,..I should remind folks that Marlin makes some pretty great rimfire rifles too and they do have a Marlin Pro-fire trigger systems available . If you want to look at a Marlin that is equal to this Mark II G , try the Marlin XT-22.

The stock looks like a twin to my old (1982) Model 64. I have this model on my "to get" list as I recently got interested in casual target shooting. If it's even slightly more accurate than my old Model 64, it should be excellent. I can do 1" groups at 50 yards with it, and it's semi-auto! I'm surprised that you find the lack of an accu trigger something to be concerned about. If you check with Savage rifles you'll see that not all of their rimfire rifles are equipped with this trigger system. That's no big deal,..I guess we just have to know what we are buying.

@regsparkes65076 жыл бұрын
@@tacomas9602 Yes, it's a good system for sure as is the similar trigger used on Marlins and Rugers. But, apparently the Savage Accu Trigger is NOT installed on all rifles.
