Not positive what it is on *this* plane, but on some Cubs it's an air intake device to cut down on FOD.

Can be flown solo from either seat, but flap controls not reachable from rear seat. The Ultralight Flyer

@@ultralightnews I don't think that answered the question. Most tandem aircraft can be flown from either seat. When there is only on person on board (solo) are you required to fly from the rear seat like a J-3 or can you solo from the front seat as a Super cub?

710/5000 Enjoying yet another great model of aircraft capable of withstanding impacts on off-road tracks, this Savage Shock shows a lot more. It shows a sectioned Flape of better performance, shows a beak (rear wheel) with shock absorber, shows deflectors of wing tips. In addition to all this WHAT I LIKED most was the Slats in three retractable sections on each wing and another great differential that is a second movement of the elevator. All very adapted to the "hardest" landings in deserted soils or areas of difficult access. These are important differentials that show that there are always possibilities for improvement. It really is a big competitor in front of Super Stol and Zenith CHs, for example (by translate.google.com). Curtindo mais um ótimo modelo de aeronave capaz de resistir aos impactos em pistas fora dos padrões, esse Savage Shock, mostra muito mais. Realmente é um grande competidor diante do Super Stol e dos CHs da Zenith, por exemplo.

Backcountry planes are the same as cars. Kitfox and Rans being the affordable, capable Chevy Trackers, all these fancy 3-10 times the cost planes (Carbon Cub, Just Highlander, etc) adding very little to capability or useful load but fancier to look at, being the Camaros and Corvettes.
