Bought the premium package for MFS 2020 because of this aircraft.

I hope the suspension and wheels will do what they are meant to do in FS2020. Looking forward to some nice bush landings.

I am flying this plane in flight simulator 2020..it's gorgeous..but could you tell me when to activate the turbo button?? And explain more about the 5 mins on take off thing. Do I activate above a certain elevation? Thanks.
@andrewmorris34794 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately flight simulator shows it as being a turbo engine with the red cylinder head covers but it’s just a normally aspirated engine in the simulator, no turbo.

Turbos are not something you can turn off and on. They're on above a certain RPM. They're also not like many think (more power). Ya, they can (as this plane has) give more power, but not much more power than a normally aspirated engine. Their main benefit is the higher you go, they continue to develop close to full power where a normally aspirated motor would be chocking out. So, if you had a turboed motor at 15K feet, it would be happy as a clam developing lots of power, just as it was down at sea level. At least, on this airplane (and most airplanes) which have turbos, that's how they work.

Review the Norden

I think it is funny when someone calls a 115,000 USD for a new one of these "affordable".

If you need to go some place fast, this is not the plane to do it.

Nope, that’s what the Norden is for! 👌🏼

The Zlin airframe is a major copy of the Rans S7 with some minor mods, like the tail feathers, but the wings are are much like the way Ran's builds them structurally.
@andrewmorris34793 жыл бұрын
This wing is completely different than an S7’s and the Zlin Norden’s is on another planet entirely.

In all your videos Ive noticed a refrain from proper nomenclature concerning these type of airframes ... The vast majority of us out here call them Back Country STOL craft ..the type of flying isn't called " fun flying " its called " Back Country Flying "... The overriding category of these planes is called" Back Country Aviation" .. The tires are not " Big Boy Tires " they are called Tundra Tires , Off Airport Tires, or Back Country Tires .... When you speak of these planes there is little mention of what things are really called in the industry or how these planes are actually used ... Nor do you ever seem to get way out in the back country and show your viewers what these planes are about ... fields , mountain meadows , dry lake beds , river gravel bars , hillsides , hill tops , mountain tops ... It leaves your viewers with little or no knowledge of their capability .... Then of course there are the numbers .. These numbers are what mean something for comparison from one back country plane to the other ... Wing loading in lbs per sq ft , power to weight ratio in lbs per hp , stall speed and typical minimum landing speed ... These numbers I mention are uncanny in comparison from one back country airframe to another ... they tell nearly the whole story other than landing gear type which determines its ultimate back country capability ..... I like your videos overall but it really feels like you are never around or completely unaware of the huge rapidly growing part of the industry called Back Country Aviation or what we actually do with these plane and what things are called ... Saying they are good for " the occasional off field landing " is a complete misconception and almost laughable understatement .... These airframes go and land in places you never dreamed of .....all day long .. with only the occasional on field landing for fuel

Your strident rant doesn't put the excellent and friendly host in his proper place. In contrast, it's analogous to someone who gets something for nothing then complains about what he or she got. I'm not annoyed with the lack of "proper" nomenclature. I'm here for an introductory flight. As indicated by the constructive feedback (a thumb's up), plenty of people watching are here for the same reason and are grateful for this video as-is. They know that if they like what they see and are ready for specific and more detailed information, they can go to the website, which has specific performance characteristics and all the technical language they may want or might expect. As for you, why not just be happy with the overall content and essential purpose of this promotional video, which is to entertain and arouse natural curiosity?

@@mikecrook8434 I guess I just can't believe he"s in the industry and this is his job ..I mean he makes a living at this .. and he cant even get the names of things right .. I mean he doesn't even know what's really going on out in the back country ... Ive watched many of his videos and Ive concluded there are many aspects of aircraft equipment, engines and flying that kind of escapes him ... But its his job .. He's supposed to know ... Ya he keeps plugging away producing these things mostly taking the easy rout by simply attending air shows and trade shows ... But good lord .. he asks pretty much every question except actual performance parameters ...actual numbers ... Can you imagine Car and Driver or Motor Trend missing these points on a review ... they would be laughed out of the industry .. Could you imagine a Car and Driver editor calling Koenigsegg carbon fibre rims " Big boy tires " .... Is this the best the aircraft industry can do !!! God help us

This is a very brief video ( very brief!) presentation of this aircraft. Leaves much to be desired. Try again or remove.
