Savage UTV Starlink Gen 3 Roam Case First Impressions

After several trips off road using the original cardboard box for my new Starlink Gen3 I decided it was time to find a better solution to protect the gear. I found two local San Diego companies and settled on the Starlink Standard, GEN 3 Roam Dish Case by Savage UTV. This is not a sponsored video and I purchased with my own money. What I like about the Savage UTV Roam case is how easy it is to deploy the system and how flexible and quick it is to deploy at a lunch stop or break. One option is to not even take the dish out of the case. And of course I am a huge fan of Pelican cases, I use them for all my photography and video equipment - this case made the most sense to me.

I got the gen 3 starlink just before heading down the Baja peninsula. To stow and protect the system I got one of those $12 bins from Lowes and a $5 pillow from Walmart. This setup worked perfectly and protected the starlink dish, router, and power supply through pothole infested roads, and bumpy 4x4 trails. Ten thousand miles later and not a scratch.

Sounds like an affordable perfect solution. I’m jealous, Baja peninsula is certainly on my bucket list!

What’s the model of just the pelican case? Would make one myself 🎉

According to their website it is a Pelican 1595 Air Case. I would caution you the case is not wide enough without the slant they built in. All the work appears to be done very professionally including the false floor but if you’re handy you certainly might save some money.

@@sdrover well if the women don’t find you handsome, they should find you handy! :) I already have a set up and turned my cables to cat5 to plug into the side wall of my truck camper ( wall port) ,and switched my power source to a 12v. ( to save wattage and not use inverter)Just thought that would make a nice case for transport and or same kinda idea. Thx so much!
