She is coming alive the longer the video the better she got! I hope you found the 17mm hex for the wheel! It won’t be long now brother👍👍👍

Thanks 🙌 I didn't find the hex nut. Have you tested different glow plugs in your Nitrostar 4.6? I'm not sure what is best, probably os#8? Thanks for watching and commenting buddy 🙏

@@electricnitrorc hi Friend I’ve never owned the f4.6 so I’m not able to advise you I try to run OS plugs if budget allows an mc or os 8 would be my advice without a hot plug I’ve idle won’t be great and tune will be affected 👍

I only use the o.s. #8 standard in my engines never had a problem at all.
@electricnitrorc7 ай бұрын
That's the plug I usually use 🙂 Unfortunately I don't have any new #8. Have a couple of #6 but that's probably not the best plug for that engine/fuel. You have any experience with OS #6?
@LameduckAof17 ай бұрын
@@electricnitrorc none at all. I'm sorry. If the #8 isn't available I use this one. LRP Platinum/Iridium Standard Glow Plug (R4 - Medium)

Now I noticed that the nuts on the wheels are not like the old ones but they use the classic 17mm. Yes, these need attention if they are not serrated.
@electricnitrorc6 ай бұрын
They are serrated but not that much. I had tightened them a bit more now. Hopefully, they stay on 🙂 The new Savages are 17mm hex 👍

towards the end of the video when you started to richen the low speed it started to blow a small amount of smoke. can't wait until it's fully tuned bro.

I own the 5.9 gtxl I suggest to change your tank to to a arrma petrol tank u will have less leaning out problems once below half a tank ....... watch Kevin talbot for some tips on them if youre unsure
@electricnitrorc6 ай бұрын
Yes I noticed that today when I had tuned my engine. Worked ok but had to drive richer than I would like when the tank was full. I guess you mean Traxxas? I have never seen ARRMA nitros. Thanks for the tip. If it bothers me in the future I will check it 🙌👍

@bobsrc9075 The engine was too cold for a proper break-in. I used a hotter glow plug after, and the temps went up. The last couple of runs I changed back to the stock cold plug, and it's not as responsive. Will go back to my hotter plugs again 👍
@weofnjieofing23 күн бұрын
You are way too gentle on this engine. It is not a race engine. By the 5th tank you should be two stroking the engine to build heat and open the taper. They way you are doing it is wearing the piston out in the taper prematurely. Lean the engine and run it much harder so that it’s actually two stroking
@electricnitrorc23 күн бұрын
@weofnjieofing Yes, I had issues with the temps during break in. The run after this I got the temperature where I want. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂

it has to be running lean it's not even smoke from the exhaust.
@electricnitrorc7 ай бұрын
You are probably right. But there was almost no smoke with both HSN and LSN flushed. Smoke is one indicator with a few others like sound, throttle response etc
@reaklyf34516 ай бұрын
Man, I'm new to the rc nitro world, but we need to stop doing the break-in at idle. This is wrong, it’s not for nothing that manufacturers say to break in with speed. About gasoline two-stroke engines, which are more popular than nitro, all users have known about this for a long time

Comparing a gas engine to nitro doesn’t work. Apples and oranges. The break in process is different for both. Adam Drake has been racing nitro for over 20 yrs. His break in procedure includes several idle tanks. Pretty sure he knows what he’s doing.
@reaklyf34516 ай бұрын
@@evil14life Adam Drake probably doesn’t even know the physics and chemistry of engine processes, this is purely practice, which cannot be compared with real knowledge. Traxxas, Kyosho, Losi recommend running it at speed. Traxxas specifically states that running it at idle will not give the “best” results. They tested their cars on the stand for hours, it's not just like that.

@@evil14life Years ago I saw a breaking motor in a buggy with only one tank, and the revs almost at the limit! And he was an experienced driver-mechanic but now it's impossible to find the video or remember who he was.
