Love the new geese scenes! I have the Hyundai sister car, the Azera. Got it certified, a 2015 (refresh year) w/40k miles for $18k (almost half price from new). It was a rental car, but you'd never know it, it held up extremely well. True, it's not a passion drive (I've got another car for that), but it's got a good punch and you get spoiled by the luxury, quietness and refinement. Yes, it is a great highway cruiser! We took it to Houston (live by Milwaukee) and it is quiet, smooth and the seats are all-day comfortable (almost no fatigue). The Infinity sound system is great as well. The ride is more floaty than german (dialed in) for sure, but it eats up the miles well. Do you think the Cadenza, K900 and the newly announced Stinger need to be in a sub luxury company within KIA? Some people ignore or over look them because of the badge.
@brothermanv7 жыл бұрын
Personally, I think they need to nix the K900. It's more expensive than its twin sister, the Genesis G80 (and Hyundai Genesis), but it doesn't do anything better. I'm not sure why the Kia version is more expensive since it isn't part of a dedicated luxury brand like Genesis. It may make sense for Kia to launch a premium brand, like how Ford and Lincoln had Mercury. But, I don't see that happening, at least not anytime soon since Genesis was just launched.
@UnitedRecording7 жыл бұрын
SKEMETUBE They basically did that with the new brand Genesis. I imagine they will kill the higher end models after this generation and they will be labeled Genesis.

Hi, the K900 is not in the same competition as G80. It competes directly with the G90. Personally, I am glad Kia didn't do a logo redesign (they need to defeat this stigma that has stuck with them). Also, Kia does not have enough resources at this moment to have a separate brand like Genesis for their luxury cars...Hyundai's Genesis was in the works for a while + Hyundai is a more successful company overall.

Knowing someone that worked at Hyundai engineering here in the US, i'd have to disagree with you about the Koreans not being stubborn and listening. Their cars have improved partly because they've copied other automakers, which isn't necessarily a bad thing and is probably common in the industry. They made significant gains in terms of quality and looks and carved out their own piece of the market--no denying that.
@savagegeese7 жыл бұрын
+MatadorCE I agree with some of that, and to a certain level Hyundai and Kia USA definately have some pull on changes to many things, I witnessed it with the Veloster, Sonata and Elantra first hand where lists of things owners wanted changed went into production. However core things like chassis and drivetrain I don't think it's as easy. Exterior design is likeley very rigid.

Their last entry into the hot hatch segment could have been competitive but was the size of the foST with te engine of the fiST.....I also feel they were afraid of the reliability of the platform and have since tuned down the turbo engines to get more mpg. Did Kia ever address the infotainment sluggishness from the previous early-mid 2010's gen cars; BOTH Optima & Cadenza? Because I test drove both ones in EX form (both likely with ventilated seats optioned in) and the simple act of skipping songs on the ipod from a button on the steering wheel took a VERY long time to respond; I'm talking 6-10+ seconds, no joke. Could've sworn I tested BOTH bluetooth & usb to attest this, but this wad some time ago... I wouldn't care about this moderate irritance, but if I can make an ipod work to my liking in a 15-20 y/o car with a >$30 adaptor, why must the infotainment in something easily $15 g's lightly used but relatively new legit FUCK with me when I wanna do a very simple thing like that??? The whole seeing multiple last gen optimas with half-burned out LED taillights while driving around on top of the simy seeing how the car works in the test drive completely turned me off Kia despite me hearing Hyundai/Kia reliability is actually trending upwards right now & into the future...

Did you do a Sedona yet?

Thank you for the reply. I found the video. Awesome reviews as always. I have tested them both, and as you said, each one fits a different type of need. I think I will go with the Pacifica although I like the exterior looks of the Sedona better.

I hate infotainments. I would love the return of the simpler cars, like the older diesel mercedes or volvos that were rock solid and simple to fix and operate.

We are at the end of the gasoline engine era, that's why there's little to no excitement anymore. It's all been done many times over. Cars that are great but just "boring" are the cars you usually want years later. All the RS TypeR M3's won't be.

I dont want a car with quirks. I dont want a car with personality. If that means it has problems... I want a reliable, smooth, no surprises car. If that means boring to you that is ok to me. I love boring 😉
