I love gyaru! I think you did a good job capturing the aesthetic. I read peach girl when I was younger and that subculture was mentioned a lot that’s how I discovered it.

That is a very misinformed western view on gyaru that got passed around a lot online, because westerners seem to enjoy making absolutely everything about themselves and their own views. Gyaru was never about race, their whole style is a rebellion against japanese beauty standards, and as such, the look is the exact opposite of it (dark, simple hair - light, big hair. light skin - tan skin. minimal makeup - extreme makeup. simple, modest clothing - over the top, skimpy clothing, and so on)
