I absolutely loved this tutorial. But personally I used cotton yarn and couldn’t exactly follow the exact tutorial. If you want to do so as well you’re gonna have to use half double crochets instead of double and use more increases for the top of the hat. This makes the hat have support so it’s not shaped like a beanie. Then continue using the half doubles. It actually creates a really solid bucket hat too. And it’s made of cotton!!!!
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
That is wonderful advice, thank you so much for sharing!! I'm sure this will save someone a lot of time!! I love the idea of making it with cotton yarn, I can imagine the shape is really solid! I might have to give it a try myself

Hi! I made this for my daughter and she LOVES it!! Question though…. To me the hat you are using in this video seems to have a more pronounced ruffle than the one in your bucket hat tutorial. Did you do something a little differently in this hat to get that effect? Or is it just my imagination ? 😁
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
AWW, I'm so happy to hear that!! Adorable!! Hmm, the main difference is that the ruffle is a bit bigger in general since we made the mushroom hat itself bigger (with that extra row of increasing), which is probably it. The only other difference is that the white edge is an extra row of just single crochet. I don't think you're imagining it! Hope this helps!! 😁

hi this is so cute! as a beginner im excited to try it. can you please clarify if you used the 4mm hook for the entire hat (in the hat tutorial) instead of the 3.25mm hook? or did you only use the 4mm hook for the white edge in this video? also if im making this for a teenager, should i try to use a smaller hook to reduce the size of the hat a little? not sure what the best way would be. thanks!
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I used the 4mm hook for the whole hat! If you want to make the hat a little bit smaller then I would go ahead and use a 3.25 or a 3.5 mm for the whole hat! Totally up to you!! 💖

Can I make the hat bigger just using chunkier yarn and a bigger hook, but leave the amount of stitches the same as in your previous tutorial?
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like it could work! I guess it might depend on how much bigger the yarn/hook is and might take a little trial and error, but I think it could work!

Hi!! I’m almost done with the hat and ran out of yarn (it’s a rlly expensive type), I want to ask why it’s necessary to add the extra row?? I don’t have any yarn left so I’m thinking to redo it from where we needed to add that row 😭😭😭😭
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
Omg NOOO 😭😭😭 thats so sad, you were almost done! The extra row is just to make the hat a little bit bigger, which kinda looks cute for the mushroom. It's definitely not necessary though, and if you redo it without the extra row, you'd probably have enough yarn now 😭😭 so sorry you have to redo it bestie! 💗
@BiTA__2 жыл бұрын
@@savannahfletcher AHAHAH it’s okay,, I’m happy to redo it if it means I waste no money and yarn, and the hat turns out good!! No worries, I just thought the video said the extra row is absolutely needed for the mushroom 🍄!!
