Aloha John, I juice 6 lbs of Turmeric at a time in the Omega 8004 & 8008. The new replacement parts for the 8004 & the original parts that come with the 8008 are pieces of crap with cheaply made plastic parts. The Drum has a tendency to crack as the Tur. builds up it's sticky resins on the Auger. I have to stop juicing & clean the Auger often when using both juicers so the Drums don't continue to crack even more. I got my 8004 from you & have loved it for 10 years with it's original parts. I juice Tur roots for the Na Kupuna/Elders who cannot do this for themselves. I make ice cubes out of the juice so they can just add a cube or 2 of Olena/Tur & a cube of Ginger juice to make their daily Tonic. They've seen wonders in the improvement of their health. I also encourage them to juice daily. Tur/Olena was one of the original 21 Canoe Plants that the Ancient Hawaiians brought with them to Hawaii. I recall that you ties to Hawaii. There's no way in hell I can afford a Pure Juicer but if I could I'd buy one. We need a juicer that can handle the Tur roots that costs from $300-$500. Even the $500 is still cutting it way to close to the budget, especially during these times. Keep in mind that we're all Kupuna/Seniors & live on a fixed/low income. If you could recommend a juicer that'd meet our needs, we'd appreciate it so much! Aloha nui!

Strainer vs sifter. While a strainer is used to separate liquids from solids, such as straining pasta from water, a sieve is used to separate smaller particles from larger particles, like when you sift flour to break up large chunks.

Doesn't look like the Pure Juicer can do leafy greens??? What about root vegetables like turmeric and ginger?

The pure juicer can juice virtually any produce items (except wheatgrass). It can juice roots and greens. I would prefer a single auger juicer for straight greens, over a pure, but for fruits, I would prefer a pure over a single auger. So it depends on your specific purpose and goals. The problem is most people try to own one juicer that "does it all the best".

Thanks so much for all the reviews you do! How does this machine do with greens like romaine , parsley, cilantro? Also, would love to see a side by side comparison to nama J2 in terms of efficiency with time and cleanup.

The pure can for sure juice greens. IMO due to stage #1 tends to "oxidize" them more than a horizonal auger juicer running at 40rpm. The juice with the pure will be more "pure" and wont have any residue like a slow juicer. For example parsley and cilantro can make a gloopy juice in a slow juicer. That being said, the gloop IMO are additional nutrients that you are excluding when using the pure. I would rather clean a J2 over the pure, myself. It is on my list to compare the pure to the J2, so stay tuned.

Crazy! Sana has just launched the Sana 848 model a copy of Hurom H101 and Hurom DIVA S. Let's wait and see how the comparison will be between Sana 848, and Sana 727 model. I think like the Hurom H101 Sana 848 will be defeated by Sana 727.

I have already compared it to vacuum blending: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3azgmuqqrWEjJY and Pom Juice kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIm1mHaKqMl4p7M Each method has their own set of pros and cons. For example, you cant vacuum juice 100% carrots, but you can juice them in a pure.

@@discountjuicers Ah yes, I forgot about those videos. They are great and go well with this video. I think the celery juice one shows that you can do well enough squeezing by hand. My idea, however, would be to come up with a way to have the remainder of juice squeezed out of the pulp in the Alexa's nutmilk bag without the extra effort by your own hands. The Pure Juicer seems like it would do well to step in and take care of the rest of the squeezing.
