I have already very same style battery, just had own wiring, plywood plates and bottom plate. What I can recommend is to use plastic pipes over threaded rod in case of physical impact and possible shortcut between cells (bare thread works like a saw!). And one question, what torque do you use on your rods? In my opinion have to be very, very low (I use 4xM10 rods and torque @ 1.5Nm) - but Jehu have done way more batteries than I ever seen :)

What inverter do you recommend if I want to a pure sine wave, 240 volt and higher watt (around 3000) output. I know Victron is great and would like to use though can you suggest a lower cost brand, I am okay with using an imported model, hoping you have experience with a brand that consistently makes clean power at the advertised specs?

It really depends on your load type: Resistive or Inductive.

@@s.mendez7160 Thank you for your reply, both as I am building a system for a full time camper, specifically looking to ensure smooth clean power for computer and audio equipment. After posting this question I thought about solar and charging and thinking that an all in one charger/inverter like an eg4 would be a good fit vs getting a generic import brand inverter. I am sure there are generic all in ones too however my guess is the support is generic if it exist at all, not good for a more complex device.

@martinmooren9536Ай бұрын
Poor balancing, slow update values in the app, measured amps bounce up&down like crazy with a constant load. Therefore the shown power is not correct and the battery percentage is wrong. I still use two Daly's but bought two cheaper JK's for my 3th and 4th battery. Battery percentage is still not perfect but the rest is. I wouldn't buy a Daly again.

@@s.mendez7160 I have a 90kWh battery bank consisting of 9 banks of 200Ah-16cel (10kWh). After a LOT of research I came up with the JK inverter BMS. As said here by others, the battery percentage goes off when you don't hit the 100% SOC from time to time. Right now in winter here in Belgium (where i live) I never get 100% soc when only relying on solar. So every 4-6 weeks I set my victron inverter grid setpoint tot 1kW. That way after a week the battery hits 100% again, starts to (active!) balance and off we go. Note: english is not my first language...

Please don't attempt to save just a couple hundred bucks (thousands? no way!) with a DIY battery. You need skills and proper equipment. That thing shown in the video is 14kWh, a lot of energy! The connecting PCB seems it doesn't take into account for expansion and contraction of the cells, which still happens despite the compression. The BMS main contacts are close to bare metal panel with no insulation whatsoever. just need a screwdriver in the wrong place to make a huge mess.
