Do you prefer wool, microfiber, or foam pads?

I primarily use foam and occasionally microfiber. Be honest never used a wool pad.

Microfiber and foam pads.

I'm a novice and have never tried to tackle anything worse than light to medium scratching, with foam pads being my only experience.

Microfiber. I use wool only for hammered surfaces and glass.

Wool on rotary for fast deep scratch removal. Microfiber for most cars, I like the Rupes heavy cut with 3D one. Then finish off with foam and some ultra coat. That does almost everything that I need, I've been using Microfiber for color sanding jobs as well, 2K or even 1500, Microfiber does the job. I have a Bigfoot 21mm.

I love polishing black painted vehicles as well as dark blue metallic. You can really see your progress and nothing looks better than a jet black car after the clear has been cut & bufft out.

I received a full set of their pads with one of the 2 shinemate polishers I bought. I found they all worked pretty well actually. I prefer wool and foam.

I have the Shinemate microfiber cutting and microfiber polishing pads. I like them they work pretty well. I too use the cutting pad with 3D #500 sometimes, and only if needed, I pair it with Sonax Ultimate Cut. I also like Shinemates Diamond face foam pads when using 3D 501 and 502. They work well with 3D 500 and 520 too, people need to understand 3D 500 works very well with foam cutting pads too

Earlier this week I had to do some polishing or sanding marks on painted plastic, which can be challenging with foam or microfiber. So I tried 3D ACA500 on LC mf cut pads and it heated up quickly. Almost no correction. Next day I brought in a Rupes Blue Wool Cutting pad with Jescar Medium Polish, and I was getting somewhere fast. I switched to the Jescar Correcting Compound and the sanding marks were completely eliminated and there was no warmth let alone heat on the panel. I'm confident that my 3D ONE or ACA500 would have performed similarly to the Jescar with the wool as well. This has me considering a permanent position for those pads. I've only ever used them with the Rupes DA Coarse which is a heavily dusting compound - unusable in my situation. I should have experimented a bit more...

I use to hate wool pads too. Those older ones they use to make that seemed like was one of the only pads available that were heavy and had a yellow tint to the wool. I hated those but the shinemate high nap wool pads as well as the Lake Country purple wool cutting pads I like as well. With a rotary that is

i like those Shinemate pads.... on my Rotary..... Wool is my go to, i Love lake country Lambwool pad !! Microfiber with DA is a good option also on Medium to hard clear coats. Uro 50/50 with 3D One on soft medium.. i mostly use foam for finishing.. [ Rupes White or Lake country Black ]

That was impressive. Observation: while you were doing the rotary cut in fast motion, your puppy never moved one millimeter! LOL. She loves her daddy. While you were cutting with the air polisher, do you feel like your air compressor gets the job done keeping up? I'm in the market for a compressor and want one that will cover whatever I throw at it. Thinking 3.5 horse 60 gallon upright Quincy. Just thinking ahead. Would like to see the detail of the red Harley you had in the shop during the video. Again, thanks for the product videos. They really help us a ton!

It is fine if there are no other tools running. Yes! She is my loyal sidekick....but then again...I am not sure who owns who. 😂 I would go with a larger compressor now, so you wont regret it later.
