Be carefull with this! Adjustmentclips work in TIMELINE-RESOLUTION meaning if you have a 4k Clip in fullHD Timeline you might ge away with the inspecto punchin on the Clip it self but you will lower the quality with the Adjustmentclip

What I'm looking for is a way to create punching Clips with the appropriate wash sound effect attached to it and then save it to a power bin. Everything that I've tried so far has not worked. I am also curious, why do a transform when the adjustment clip itself can already do this punch in effect easily?

@@roderickdeleeuw2101On the adjustment clip, in the bottom right of it should be a curvy line, that pops up a menu under the clip and of that menu theres a drop down on the top left, select Zoom X or Y and that's how you change the key frame curves

However, as only the general 'Zoom' seems to be available for manipulation in the inspector, I cannot add keyframes to the individual 'zoom x' and 'zoom y'. Hence: it doesn't seem possible to edit the curves of those individual zooms. Perhaps I'm not seeing something...

And maybe to add: manipulating the #curves for (the general) 'zoom' variable, only allows for 'straight' lines from 1 keyframe to another. The option 'ease-in/out' isn't visible to me (which would sort of tackle the issue from a different side).

@@roderickdeleeuw2101 Oh I see, in this video he added the "Transform" effect to the Adjustment Clip, where I notice only has the single "Zoom" slider. Usually when I transform a clip with an adjustment clip I just use the video tab in the inspector, which has X and Y zoom. Try not using the effect he dragged and use the original video tab

I think you gotta double check in Premiere and be careful. Bc the transform will scale the footage as scaled to the timeline resolution. So if the footage is 4k in a 1080p timeline, I think it will just blow up the 1080p image. But if you use the transform of the file it will get the source resolution. It might be that I’m wrong and that it’s only with nested sequences. But gotta be careful. Also with the shortcuts of scale to frame etc. Premiere is dangerous with that.

Is there a way to make the adjustment layer only affect a particular eb layer and not everything under it? Something like a clipping mask (for icons animation, but dont affect background)

The quick answer to that, is to put it inbetween those layers. Say, you have an Image on top of a Video layer, place the adjustment layer inbetween the image and video and it'll only effect the video itself. If you're looking for something more specific than that, pop in the discord and ask away!

hmmm, it shouldn't? Unless you have some kind of color correction on the adjustment layer itself? Double check as well to make sure the Transform Open FX is on the adjustment layer and not the clip itself. Because Davinci's work flow goes from the Edit Page -> Fusion -> Color -> Fairlight -> Render, sometimes if you apply an effect on the Edit page, it can alter changes you made on the Fusion/Color Page. If this happens to ya, a quick work around is to make your clip with the effect applied on the Edit page, a Compound Clip. This will "nest" your applied effect within the compound clip

you can't, the same concept would apply, but you would need to go into the fusion page and add a transform node there. This is just a quick and dirty way of doing it to save time

Mmmmm, kind of. What you'll want to search for is your "Power Bins". What you can do is, create this adjustment layer, and then drag it into your Power Bins. Davinci unfortunately has a problem with translating key frames on saved Open FX from the Edit Page A better solution might be to create an Adjustment Layer -> go into the Fusion Page -> add a Transform Node and apply the same zoom -> and then save that adjustment layer to your Power Bins. This normally has a better success rate, and you could also save that node as a setting for future Fusion clips.
