Alright, here's the thing: I tried very hard to not do my usual Matty rant on this video, because I really want you guys to not fall for this crap. I have fallen on the sword testing every single pressure washer out there, so take it from me, this hunk of crap is not worth your hard-earned money. Don't fall for the marketing that these guys deploy to sell you a shiny, cool-looking machine which cannot even keep up with a sub $100 pressure washer from Home Depot.
To actually buy a good pressure washer, hit up the pressure washer section of the store. Plenty of good options in any price bracket. Everything on my site is something that is actually worth your money.

On your recommendation, I bought a Karcher K1700 in May of 2019 and it’s still going strong after 4 years of weekly washes for 2 cars. I’ve since bought 3 more and stashed them at my Mom’s house, my GF’s parents’ house and my Aunt’s house so I always have one available to clean their cars when I visit. At $120 a pop, they’re such an excellent value. I’ve got your advanced upgrade kit and the upgraded gun/wand/hose/nozzles make it an absolute joy to use. Appreciate all your hard work in vetting these products for us. We’re lucky to have you, Matt!

I have the Grandfalls Pro. To me it works great and has plenty of pressure for car detailing. Personally I don't want paint-stripping levels of spray pressure for car washing, I have another portable pressure washer that I can use for that if needed. Could it use a bit higher GPM?...yes, but it is sufficient overall. Would be nice if it were more like 2 or 2.3 GPM, but again it's OK. It seems to be made well-enough and I have had no issues with it, but time will tell long-term. Part of the equation in buying it is I could buy 4-6 of these units for the price of a pro-level wall mount setup, and the usage rate of a home-user a couple times per month vs a professional detailer comes into the equation as well with regard to expected longevity. If I were doing this professionally I would definitely not select this unit. Also worth noting as I investigated these the Pro model is a big improvement over the earlier/lower models b/c of the improved motor. Good luck! YMMV.

This is by far the worst performing while also being the highest price consumer grade pressure washer. Any Ryboi, SunJoe, Greenworks, AR are better than this by a wide margin. I've literally tested them all. Shoot, you could get a legit Karcher for $180. This goes to show how poor consumers are at buying stuff. It's the main reason why I'm here, to save you from yourself.
@NicholasShumaker
@NicholasShumaker Жыл бұрын
@@ObsessedGarage thanks. Are any of those wall mounted? That’s the rub. There are no wall mounted competitors anywhere near the price point. I have a Greenworks portable and before that had two Karcher portables. Karchers were absolute crap and died in less than a year. Greenworks has been going strong for 3+ years. Love your videos and site, no harm intended just don’t completely agree with you on this one. Thanks for all you do.

@@NicholasShumakerthat’s exactly it Nicholas. I watched this video before getting my first one. He makes good points but I’m not doing anything commercial. I just want a regular pressure washer that is more convenient. The g20 and g30 gets the job done. I’ve had other versions which weren’t convenient. We wouldn’t use them as after because of the hassle. The higher price is justified by the convenience.

I can agree about these pressures washer being garbage. I have one of the very first version I bought several years back. I wash my mistress weekly and that’s all I use it for. While it’s convenient being an all in one pressure washer, it sucks!! Motor runs continuously after the trigger is released, plastic hose kinks up especially during cold weather. I’m upgrading my setup next week. I’m throwing it away once I receive all my new equipment. I won’t even give it away to my friends.

It is true that they try to reach out to smaller creators, hoping that they'll get excited that a company noticed them, with them not knowing any better. They reached out to me before and I declined, but not every small creator knows what BS might look like. They take advantage of the creator's excitement for being noticed. That is their marketing scheme. I would 100% recommend the Active 2.0 if anyone is in the comments looking at suggestions or feedback from others. Amazing pressure washer for this price range.

When I saw KZbinrs promoting these I looked at them and knew instantly they were crap. Have to thank the great OG pressure washing testing videos for gaining the knowledge. They make no sense. $300 + for an $80 pressure washer. So when that cheap pressure washer motor goes bad and isn’t repair-able the hose reel is useless also and you have to buy both again. Far better off to buy the Ryobi or Karcher and a separate hose reel.

I could not disagree with your opinion more. I love this pressure washer. A year and a half and no issues...perfect to wash a car. Not everyone needs pro level stuff to wash their car or to do small tasks around the house. Several of my friends bought them after they saw mine and how convenient it is. Out of 4 units between me and my friends one has failed because it was left outside in below 0 temperatures. Guess what they replaced it no questions asked. The hose reel convivence is unbeatable and frankly unmatched. To say this is the worst pressure washer in existence is just frankly not true and it sounds like you made this video because it was taking money away from "your" products.

Matt is a pompous ahh, and I bothers me when people act like the know all about a subject, while simple offering more expensive options as a solution. Did it ever occur to you that there’s plenty of consumers out there that don’t want to invest thousands into a Kranzle setup, plus reel, 100ft hose etc…I bought my basic Giraffe pw for $250 on Amazon and worked just fine for almost two years until the motor burned out. I sent them a message and had a replacement unit sent to me days later. Where else can you spend $250 and get 100ft auto reeling washer with accessories and Mount for this price. Also one that honors their two year warranty no questions asked. It’s easy to act brilliant by telling people to spend more money on higher quality stuff, but it’s those content creators that do the work, find the diamonds in the ruff, that last and save money that truly earn a reputation with me. Imagine how hard it is for someone to say Ryobi makes a good drill, but Milwaukee is better if you just spend a little extra. Like no sheet.

Wouldn't this be due to the 100ft line length (expansion) and not the fricken switch? There's a ton of other lunacy in this video "I'm not going to" do this and that and then he does it. Crazy town.

I mounted it into a custom sound enclosure to keep it out of the weather and quiet. After 20min continuous use the enclosure does not heat up. It has more than enough power to wash our cars and also to remove paint and algae and stuff from surfaces around the house. It foams very well. Best of all it self coils in an instant making this regular chore a breeze. And for my situation I actually need the 100ft of hose. I paid $420 during Black Friday sale - seems to be available for $540 normally.

The moment you said 10K camera, 5K table, MacBook Pro to read a spreadsheet, then I understood where you are coming from. This video threw a wrench in my plans for choice of pressure washers initially as I am doing my garage makeover currently but I ultimately still went with this product. My analysis was that your use case and my use case are completely different. You don't even trust the Kranzle enough to not fail that you use 2 Kranzle inline (It makes zero sense to me) but I'm sure it is fantastic for your use case. For the 4 months of good weather we get here in Alberta Canada, the simplicity of the giraffe compared to the jerryrigging and all the individual pieces you have to purchase to use active 2 in the same fashion setup makes the giraffe a better value for me least in Canada. The active will costing additional 300 bucks at least by the time you are done with all the additional accessories. The giraffe is a very simple setup for the average home owner and I can easily pick it up on Amazon. For a professional detailer, then it might not be good . I just installed mine today. 30 days to see how I like it if not , I can return it at no cost and it.

@@ObsessedGarage I am really open to alternatives all in one solution in the same price with the excat same features that the giraffe offers as I already have a gas powered pressure washer from Simoniz for heavy duty stuff. I just need something for casual use. I hate having to bring out the pressure washer and start connecting hoses just to do a quick wash. I have searched with no luck. We don't get a good product selection here in Canada unlike you guys in the states. What specific model of Ryobi is that so I can go check it? I can still return the giraffe if I find a better alternative. I paid 350 bucks the non plus model of the giraffe.

I was looking for a reasonable response and after scrolling for 5 minutes yours is the only one that mirrors my sentiments. And a coincidence that I'm also from Alberta. This review completely overlooks the selling point of the Giraffe, not once does he talk about the fact that it is wall mounted all in one solution with 100ft hose. I've been using a cheap typical pressure washer from Home Depot for years, and I'm sick of carting out the power cable and extending the hose, and expending effort lifting the unit around the car. As far as I can see, if you want convenience, this is by far the CHEAPEST solution and it makes no sense to compare it against rolling pressure washers. The cheapest unit that OG sells is 3x the price of this Giraffe Pro I bought. I did appreciate the technical details about pressure washers in general, but I am willing to pay extra for the convenience and pay that trade off against a cheap motor. It is more than enough to wash my floors, deck and cars.

haha yeah, once I got to the camera/table/tripod/computer comment that did explain it. I agree, get the best tools for your pro needs. I wayyy overspent on my mac for the same reasons, serious regret on that purchase. As a pro photographer I usually get top of the line gear, just depends on the job. But I wouldn't recommend those tools to a hobbyist. The Giraffe tools work perfectly for my needs, very happy w/ them. But clearly he needs more for his work!! I totally respect that! Doesn't make these garbage for other purposes. I did have the $80 ryobi, it was a massive pain in the ass... the wall mount retractable was life changing for daily use, makes me happy every time I use it.

Agree with a lot of what you said about falling into the marketing trap. With so much sponsored content online now it's hard to know what's an actual good product or not. I'm basically of the mindset that if I see dozens of people on KZbin pushing the same thing (i.e. Athletic Greens), I probably won't buy it. I'm curious about the $200 Husqvarna unit they have at Costco. It looks really nice, but can't find much about it online.

If you are talking about the gas one, one of my friend who is a weekend warrior when it comes to detailing has it. It gets used once or twice a week to wash cars and he bought it about a year ago. I had the electric Husqvarna for about a year. Overall it was decent and gave me no issues during my time with it. I upgraded to a Kranzle and gave it away, but with Costco's warranty it is a solid option. I will say that in order to use the stock hose you must be a massachist, so budget for a replacement.

Not sure why Matt says pressure washing and induction motors are the worst at 5:55...my AR Blue 630-TSS has an induction motor and it is fabulous. Both the Kranzle K1322TS and the Karcher 2100 PS have induction motors. On the other hand, the Active 2.0 and Karcher K1900 both utilize universal motors. Most higher power electric machines use an induction motor. Induction motors are heavier duty, produce more power, and last longer than universal motors. Universal motors are lighter, louder, and cheaper than induction motors.

Hey Matt great video! Ive never used their more expensive units and its a shock to see the lack of performance at the price of these . I did a review on their new unit the G20 and for $200 it seemed to be a decent option for someone who wants an all in 1 unit where they dont have to mess with setting up everything separately. Although it peaked at about 15.60 amps with the nozzles it came with. With a 3.5 nozzle i was at about 950psi and close to 1.7 gpm which was very surprising to me. They sent me the unit and tried to get me to sign a contract which i said no thank you to, exactly for the same reason you just bought these... I wanted to be 100% honest in the review (i actually only took the unit from them because they werent available to purchase at the time and I wanted to test it out). Most of the accessories and casing i referred to as "fine" nothing great but again for the person that doesnt want to mess with extra upgrades it would get the job done. Anyways, thanks for shining some light on their more expensive units. As you said in the video, not everyone can afford a Kranzle but at 380 and 600 these ones are are not cheap by any means and that performance does not justify the price
