Hi Robert , man i am sorry to tell you but you got me rolling 🤣 LOL , the main bar , the one that attach to the winch line suppose to connect to the bottom pin and the other 3 pins are to adjust the angle you want the blade to dig , the reason that it dont dig deep in your attempts is because the main bar is not fixed in position, so the blade wants to go parallel instead off an angle , this things are really effective when set up correctly you dont need to step over it to try to make it go down , believe me the problem whit this anchors is getting them out once they buried ! i have pull a excursion whit a trailer on out of the soft sand in PINS once, I end up giving that anchor away to a friend because in my GX the maxtraxs are sufficient , mine was a Smittybilt.

Just looked at the pic on the website and it looks like you are 100% correct. But in the PDF instructions it is totally in the top hole in the expanded view.

@@CoastalGX about the only way it would work, That 4x4 was not even bogged. Just dug the back wheels in. Sand was hard sand. Not like the soft stuff we have on the beaches here in Western Australia

We have nastier areas than that, but his Jeep was overheating. I can’t even bury mine in the sand if I try. There’s another video that shows we abandoned his vehicle. Australia has some awesome spots for sure. That’s where I drew inspiration for my build. I’m lucky to have the two longest stretches of drivable beach in the United States. We have all sorts of sandy surfaces, but unlike Australia, the feds don’t allow us to get on the dunes or they’ll fine us.

I think it needs to have lower pin holes, so it doesn't pull on top. If need you can did a hole to put it in deeper. Have a great week!!

The tow arm was pulling the Blade up instead of down, that can be adjusted. I like my 12K Smittybilt winch for logging, it has never let me down.

Yeah I’m afraid you haven’t assembled it correctly to dig in properly and it needs a strap or cable attached to the back end so you can drive over it and hook to your back hitch/ bumper recovery point and pull it out with the vehicle. I saw a rice farmer use a bigger one before and they work great…. And pull out easy with the truck/tractor etc.

Pull bar mounts in lower pin and upper pins is stopper for different angles.

That sounds right. It’s a tricky tool and this may be possibly the only video with it at a beach. They have pretty much no instructions.

The top pin holes you were using are for the dig angle. You should have a pin only in them. The tow arm should be in the lower hole and as you pull the arm lifts to the pin above and the anchor is directed down
