You believe a false gospel. The true gospel is the good news of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, it is concerning who Christ is and what He did to save His elect only. The gospel includes the how and why, which can only be seen by faith. It is a message that declares how the eternal Son of God came down, took on a body of sinless flesh (John 1:14) as He was born of a virgin (Mat 1:23). He was both God and man in one Person. He was born under the Law to keep and fulfill it (Mat 5:18, Gal 4:4). He did that, not for Himself, but for all those He represented because they could not keep it themselves. The word of God calls these people the elect or His sheep, among several other names. His obedient life also included the part of dying. He took on the sin of His people as both a Substitute and Representative of those people. The Bible said He was "made to be sin" (II Cor 5:21) and the way that was done is by God imputing (legally reckoned or charged to the account of) sin to Christ. That means all the sin of all those people God chose was "laid on Him" (Isaiah 53:6). This sin was legally transferred to His account and He then owned it in such a way to be guilty of it all. God the Father poured out His wrath and hatred toward sin on His Son and had pleasure (Isaiah 53:10) in doing so, in that, He was completely satisfied in Christ as a Sacrifice that met all the demands of His strict Law and inflexible justice. Christ finished the work of paying the penalty of the Law and then said " It is finished" (John 19:30). He secured salvation for all God’s chosen people that would even be born. His resurrection is evidence of the acceptance of His sacrifice to the Father. The combined work of His obedience to the Law and His obedience unto death on the cross was considered establishing righteousness. This is what one of the Old Testament prophets prophesied as "bringing in an everlasting righteousness" (Daniel 9:24) as Christ died effectually and exclusively for those chosen of God before the world began (Eph 1:4). This righteousness is what God imputes to His people in the context of giving the life to believe in Christ. This puts them in a state called "Justification" and as a result they are eternally secure, in Christ. This is the gospel (Rom 1:16-17). All this takes place in such a way to show God as both a God of justice and a Savior. This is how grace reigns through righteousness (Rom 5:21)

Those who say they can sin all they want and would rather sin freely (having no conviction) and just shrug it off by saying they’re saved, are the same people that weren’t saved to begin with. But the Bible is clear on once saved always saved. Technically you could but you won’t if you really are saved.

So let's say one professed to be Christian, but secretly did many things that are wicked. He is still saved from the grave so that he may stand and be judged by those things he thought no one else saw. Nothing is hidden from the Lord.

Saved by grace through faith according to Ephesians. Saved by faith alone according to Romans. Once saved always saved according to Romans 8 and also the whole Bible. If it depended on me I would definitely perish.

The bible is very clear about this issue. Works can be a reason of salvation. Jesus said he will use them during judgment day: *Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth - those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. John 5:28-29 (NKJV)* Don't get it wrong, faith is a reason why someone is saved as pointed by scriptures multiple times. But works also can do the same. Jesus said he will judge men on the last day and he will use works to evaluate them. Let's leave to Jesus how he will use one's works. He will make the judgment call anyway. *And I [John] saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. The commandment to keep the sabbath was to Israel, not to Gentiles. And the effort to keep any commandment is pointless for meriting eternal life. If you've sinned once, you're a sinner and regarded to God as a LAW BREAKER. There's no covering your past criminal activity with bribing God saying "look look, now I keep your law sometimes." When you go and break it again the next day. He's not impressed. He doesn't need your law keeping to help Him save you. Jesus Christ died on a cross, naked and alone, with the weight of all your sins on His shoulders. He alone said "it is finished!" He rose again from the dead. You need to take your faith off yourself and your legalism and put it in Christ or you will too likewise perish!

And you can never cancel out one N.T. scripture with another, they are complimentary not contradictory. James is talking about faith without good works, may as well be dead to the unbeliever, who is looking on and comparing your testimony to your lifestyle. Works, good or bad, have no effect on the free gift of salvation, otherwise we could boast that our own works were involved in our salvation. Macarthur and Reform Theology followers constantly boast that the reduction of sin, and good works, prove they, and others, are saved, exactly what God said not to do!

exactly. People dont remember the CONTEXT. Context is the critical element in hermeneutics! How can people interpret the bible? Context! James isn't just a few verses in chapter 2! It's a whole letter telling ALREADY saved Christians how to live! Not a warning for unsaved people and how they can make sure they are saved. James is writing to people He calls "brethren" dozens of times! James is saying if a MAN says to another MAN, "I have faith" How can someone know? by your lifestyle. It's not God who needs you to show works so He can finally realize you are really saved. God knows everything! He doesn't need to find out anything! And we don't look to our works to know if we are saved because our performance is constantly changing! That's shaky ground! That's Romans 7 Paul agonized by His ups and downs! Instead at the end of Romans 7 He finally looks to Jesus after saying "Who will save me from this body of sin and death? Thanks be to Christ Jesus!" Then he launches straight into Chapter 8 verse one "Therefore there is now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ!"

Such a convoluted, circular effort of avoidance to not just admit that every person has to wake up each day and make the conscious decision to follow Christ. Of course salvation is only available because of and through him, but that doesn’t eliminate our responsibility to choose to follow Him and invite Him into our lives through our behavior so that His grace and power can change and save us.
