You forgot to mention that the battery pack should be pushed in and twisted. Locked in place. This has been causing many people issues with their lightsabers because there is a spring that pushes back on the battery pack. Tightening the pommel helps, but locking the pack in place is best for it.

Got a Savi's Lightsaber in August 2021 at Disneyland... The pack is held in place by a couple of grooves with an L on the inside of the handle and small protrusions on the battery pack. To remove the battery pack you need to push the battery pack in gently and turn it counter-clockwise about 1/8 of a turn to unlock it from the L. It will then pop out partway, and you can slide it out the rest of the way.

What Dan-O Channel said. Yes, you have to align the red arrow, then do a small left twist, and you'll hear/feel the battery pack lock into place. Originally I noticed 3 things with my saber that made me realize my batteries were running low: 1. The violet crystal I was using was flickering and switching between violet, red, and orange colors. 2. When I swung the saber straight up or straight down, the power would just shut off entirely. 3. I then opened the crystal chamber and saw that the crystal was flickering. Thanks for the vid! Was very helpful!

FYI - Because I live in Orlando, I went to Galaxy's Edge and asked them how to do this AND, how we can "turn off" the light saber so it won't drain the batteries just sitting in it's case. They showed me exactly what you did, but the newer light saber battery packs are a bit different. It appears that they no longer encase the pack with the plastic sleeve that requires you to use a screwdriver to change the batteries. I guess enough people had difficulty finding the batteries that they modified it. Unfortunately they did not have a good answer for saving the batteries. They said: "you should just remove the battery when you're putting it into storage." That's not a very good answer and will likely lead to the battery getting separated from the kit and lost. I'm going to experiment and see if I can create some sort of thin, removable barrier to break the circuit.

It will be really annoying taking out batteries every time I'm not using it.
@SaberSourcing2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it might just be your best shot to take out the batteries, even if that's annoying. Here's an article about saber battery maintenance: sabersourcing.com/2020/04/05/lightsaber-battery-maintenance-tips-what-you-should-know/

1:01 is NOT correct. Push and twist counter-clockwise to release the battery compartment, do NOT wiggle or yank on it. The speaker cover will pop off and you will take the speaker with it, severing the wire leads. I had to re-solder the wires and take the casing off to realize there is a spring-loaded catch. I wish I would have read the comments before adding hours to my battery replacement.
